Next Generation Carriers podcast

The ‘Next Generation Carriers’ podcast wants to give a shoutout to all our listeners and supporters. It’s amazing to hear carriers from all corners listen to our podcast.

Someone actually said I do good interviews. That’s wild to hear.

Solidarity.

PS, Brian Renfroe has agreed to come onto our podcast for the 4th time.

“Disapproved by the Executive Council”

Now that the E.C. jumped from Renfroe this highlights how undemocratic this mechanism of is.

The rank and file will be busy Sunday to Tuesday talking to retirees on why they should vote with the active carriers and not with the E.C.

Josh’s Towne rallying with APWU / AFL-CIO

Why do the 4 separate postal unions not work together on uniting for national days of actions?

Also, with nearly 300,000 members the NALC should have a solidarity network database/application where members can receive notifications for actions to attend.

Josh Towne is a rank and file Table 2 city carrier running for AFL-CIO Delegate. The 2026 NALC delegates will be voting Thursday on this, sorry rank and file you don’t truly get a vote on that.

We need to start electing rank and file members who are 100% based on solidarity, not on a title.

Also; Jonathan Smith the President of the APWU agreed to go on Towne’s podcast: Solidarity Report. - After the 2026 NALC election tho.

Thoughts on this breakdown?

Melissa Rakestraw:
Start Quote
“Brian isn't running and Eddie said he wouldn't run if that were the case.

That ought to give people pause.

Jumping in at the last hour without putting forward a platform and giving people a chance to vet your slate. All 13 promoted NBAs are men, this isn't 1950 anymore. A trustee slate who never held the current President accountable for his spending. And several NBAs who have voted with Renfroe and never said boo.

Even a couple of them argued on the convention floor in Boston that we shouldn't have open bargaining nor should we file a National level grievance for the DRT backlog.

Lots of status quo career union officials on this slate. No table 2 carriers on the slate. Seems woefully short.”
End Quote

Margo O’Neill & Sarah Cuello are Table 2 City Carriers running for National NALC positions.

Both of them are on the 2026 ‘Stand Up’ Slate at this NALC Convention. Running for AFL-CIO delegates.

Sarah Jaronczyk (Cuello) & Margo Rose O'Neill to hear about their experience at the PO, their work in the broader labor movement, & why they think it’s important that organizers from table 2 have some representation at National.

Sadly, general membership doesn’t vote on AFL-CIO delegates, only NALC Convention delegates do. 🤷🏻

We’re told to “Stand up and get active”, so we are.

The Next Generation Carriers podcast will be going live next Tuesday, 7/7 at 7:30 PM EST, to talk with members of the Stand Up Slate running for National AFL-CIO Delegate at the NALC Convention in Los Angeles.

NALC has 7 delegate positions for the AFLCIO 2030 Convention. We’re running 6 city carriers:

- Chris Persampieri
- Margo O’Neill
- John Murphy
- Sarah Cuello
- John Morris
- Josh Towne

We are running because these positions should be more than ceremonial.

Labor needs delegates who will stand up, organize, and fight for a real working-class platform: 1.) a 32-hour workweek with no loss in pay, 2.) single-payer healthcare, 3.) a workers’ party, 4.) taxing the rich.

Tune in next Tuesday and hear why we believe NALC should send fighting delegates to the AFL-CIO.
