Wegovy HD prescriptions

Wegovy HD saw 15.7% increase to about TRx 22k in the newest IQVIA data.

While absolute numbers are still in the lower end, it keeps increasing week by week.

22k means above $450 million run rate. And with these week by week increases HD starts to get meaningful impact at NVO revenue.

Wegovy HD should launch here in Q3 in the first EU countries.

Symphony Oral Wegovy

$NVO ’s Oral Wegovy reached a new record in the latest U.S. prescription data from Symphony Health

Total prescriptions increased 0.9% to 144,431 in week 35 from 143,129 the previous week, the highest level since launch.

$LLY ’s competing Foundayo pill also continued to grow, with prescriptions increasing 6.8% to 18,935 from 17,726.

While Foundayo grew considerably faster in percentage terms, Oral Wegovy actually added slightly more prescriptions in absolute terms, gaining 1,302 prescriptions versus 1,209 for Foundayo.

IQVIA

Twenty weeks into its launch, Eli Lilly's Foundayo has finally exceeded 40,000 in weekly prescriptions, according to IQVIA data cited by Citi. The oral GLP-1 drug posted 40,862 scripts last week, bouncing back from a small dip the week prior. Still, the drug's scripts level is still no match to the roughly 57K that Novo Nordisk's Wegovy pill garnered at week 6 of its own launch.

In its 33rd week of launch, Wegovy pill booked roughly 175K scripts, slightly down from 176K, per IQVIA. The share of the oral version of semaglutide in all Wegovy obesity scripts was flat week over week, at 35%. All told, across the pill and the injectable, Wegovy's weekly scripts were a little over 500K, down 0.8% sequentially.

As Jefferies analysts observed in an Aug. 21 note, Wegovy have been relatively flat since the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program began July 1.

Overall, the roughly 60%-40% obesity market share split between Lilly and Novo remained stable, as Lilly's Zepbound held its ground as the most popular drug.

Lower dose for the Wegovy Pill

NVO has started a new study of lower doses of its Oral Wegovy, according to Bloomberg.

The study is designed to determine the lowest dose that can still deliver meaningful weight loss.

Around 450 participants have been recruited, with two unspecified doses of Oral Wegovy being tested. The study started on August 12.

The timing is interesting. Oral Wegovy has already surpassed 5 million U.S. prescriptions since launching earlier this year, and BMO Capital analyst Evan Seigerman estimates that more than two-thirds of patients taking the pill are currently on the lowest dose.

If lower doses can deliver meaningful weight loss, it could potentially become an important part of how Oral Wegovy is used.

Once monthly Semaglutide about to start?

Or at least I think this could be once monthly semaglutide developed by $NVO partner $ASND.

144 patients in 3 parts. The last part looks like 12w data.

It’s the length of each part together with semaglutide is an active comparator already in P1 where PK data also is a very important part of any P1 trial.

WEGOVY PILL IQVIA

I have no idea where this data came from. I found it online and I'm a bit shaken. It's good that we are above 160k, but I wanted to see the symphony data shown as a graph.

Down 5% vs last week.

I think there’s some data not included this week. We don’t see such difference from Symphony and IQVIA. And doesn’t fit with rest of brands increasing. So I would expect to see adjustments at later IQVIA data release

Foundayo up by 13.8%

$LLY $NVO $VKTX Foundayo TRx were 38928 (vs. 34219 last week) Oral Wegovy TRx were down -5% w/w, ending the week at ~163k vs. the prior week's ~173K•Zepbound TRx was up +2% TRx ending the week at ~738k vs. the prior week's ~726k.

Amycretin vs Rezatrutride

I asked the AI to find all the data it could on the two medicines and compare them for week 36 in non-diabetics. Could this be true? If so, I don't understand why the market thinks Novo Nordisk is a washed-up company. I mean, the pill and the future pipeline are both impressive!

Why did I compare week 36? Because we only got results up to week 36 on Amycretin, and I wanted to see how it performs compared to Retartrutide.

still we see 24%(week36) >24.2(week 48)
