Looking to Connect with Chevening Alumni

Hi all,

I’m currently preparing my application for the Chevening Scholarship 2027–28, and while I’ve done extensive research, I still feel that nothing compares to learning directly from those who’ve successfully been through the process.

I’m looking to have a 1:1 mentorship session with Chevening alumni who would be willing to share their application journey, offer guidance, and provide honest feedback on how they approached the scholarship. I truly value your time and experience, and I’m more than happy to compensate you for your support.

If you’re a Chevening alumnus/alumna and are open to helping, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could get in touch.

Thank you in advance!

Is My Profile Competitive for the Chevening Scholarship?

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate some honest feedback on whether my profile is competitive enough for the Chevening Scholarship.

Here’s a brief overview of my background:

Graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Arts (Visual Design & Animation) in January 2024.

Worked remotely as a Graphic and UX/UI Designer for multiple international companies from 2022 to 2025. I also work as a freelance designer at times.

Working as an SEO Specialist for a US-based company since 2024 (I’m unsure whether this experience would be considered relevant for Chevening).

In terms of leadership, I haven’t founded an organization or initiative. However, I volunteer as a Social Media Manager for a UK-licensed charity and also coordinate its charity work in my country.

One concern I have is that my leadership experience isn’t as strong as many successful applicants I’ve come across.

Studying for a master’s in the UK has been a long-term goal of mine, but financial constraints have made it difficult to pursue.

Based on this profile, do you think I would be a competitive applicant for Chevening? If not, what areas should I strengthen before applying?

I’d really appreciate any advice or insights from Chevening scholars, alumni, or anyone familiar with the application process. Thank you in advance!
