Hi! I’m currently two years away from college, and I have a background in leadership and journalism. Ever since I was young, I’ve dreamed of attending an Ivy League school or becoming an international scholar. Lately, though, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed because I’m not sure what steps I should be taking right now to make those goals possible.
I’m from Asia and come from a middle-income family, so finding accessible opportunities and resources has been a challenge at times. My interests are mainly centered around communication and leadership, public speaking/media, social sciences and psychology, community engagement, and active student involvement. I’m also very active in extracurricular activities (for ex. i join office of the ombudsman based/related leadership prog and regional quali for radiobroadcasting) and enjoy learning about science-related topics.
I’d really appreciate any advice or insights especially from people who have gone through a similar journey. What can I realistically do within the next two years to strengthen my chances of studying abroad or getting into an Ivy League school?
