After seeing a hoard of gold Alexander staters at the Archaeological Museum of Nafplio in Greece, I couldn’t stop thinking about having one in my collection. This one an early posthumous issue minted in Miletus.

Matches a pic I took at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum of the Ishtar Gate’s Processional Way in Babylon. Struck in Babylon 328-311 BC (maybe Alexander the Great himself put his eyes on this piece of the gate when entering Babylon).
