Planning to buy the LG C5 42" as a PC monitor

I have some questions to the guys that are using a TV, specifically this model, as a PC monitor. I mainly play single-player games and currently using a 27" 1440p monitor connected to my gaming laptop. I also like to watch a lot of movies, animes and tv series.

  1. Is it good to run 1440p games in a 4k screen?

  2. Are there any settings or adjustment to the TV before using it as a PC monitor or is it plug-and-play?

  3. What are the pros and cons that I should expect coming from a gaming monitor (XG27AQWMG is my last monitor)

Thanks

I decided to return my ASUS XG27AQWMG and fortunately they refunded me immediately even though I haven't sent them the monitor back. With the refunded money, I decided to purchase the same model again. Upon opening the new one, both of them were manufactured in December 2025. So, I thought, I won't be seeing any big differences between them.

Both of the monitor side by side with File Explorer Dark Mode open:

Left is the second purchase; Right is the first

Side by side with the favorite gray uniformity test video:

Left is the second purchase; Right is the first

The new monitor has better grey uniformity, still not perfect but better.

I don't know if it is just me, I noticed that on white screens, they have subtle differences.

Left is the second purchase; Right is the first

As of today, I already dropped the first monitor off to the return shop and decided to keep the new one. Did I make the right choice?
