Confusion on P Line Electric compatibility

Confusion on P Line Electric compatibility

Hi all - hoping for some assistance...I've emailed Brompton but they have neglected to reply.

To be clear - I am a novice when it comes to bike parts. Learning, but still haven't got much knowledge. I bought the following parts to go alongside my new P Line Electric:

I took both in yesterday to get fitted, only to get a phone call from the shop telling me that the two parts weren't compatible with each other. One or the other could be fitted, but not both. I went back and picked up the bike and still have the two parts.

My question is - is there a replacement superlight crankset for a P Line electric which will let me use the replacement electric bottom bracket? I spent £250 on the crankset I have, but plan to exchange it for the right one.

Any tips would be appreciated please...I know it might be obvious to some but clearly not me!

Guys, I get it now.

I used to wonder why these things had such a cult following and were so popular. Then, I found myself owning one (a long story), a brand new P Line Electric 4 speed. For the first few days I didn't use it.

Yes, it took me several minutes to fold and unfold it. Yes, it unfolded the first time I was carrying it and nearly took my finger off. No, I didn't read the instructions properly because I am impatient.

But then I cycled today from Canary Wharf in London back to where I live in Greenwich, the sun was out, and....wow. I was actually having fun cycling for the first time in years.

What a clever, well-engineered little machine. I'd thought about selling it - but no chance!
