[News] Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Joins the GOG Preservation Program

After Ubisoft cancelled its planned remake earlier this year, GOG has delivered on its promise by adding the original 2003 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to its Preservation Program. The update brings native widescreen and ultrawide support, automatic FOV scaling, an FPS limiter, and multi-monitor mouse locking, all while keeping the game DRM-free and playable without GOG Galaxy.

[Discussion] Do You Redeem Every Free Steam Key or Save Some for Friends?

When you receive a free Steam key, do you activate it immediately, check whether you already own the game, or keep it for a friend who might enjoy it more? I am interested in how people manage duplicate keys and whether sharing a smaller game has ever introduced someone to a genre they now love.

[Question] How Do You Keep a Large Steam Library Organized?

[Question] Which Free-to-Play PC Game Is Actually Friendly to New Players?

Many free-to-play games are fun, but new players can feel overwhelmed by complicated systems, experienced opponents, and endless menus. Which free PC game would you recommend to someone starting today because it has a welcoming community, clear tutorials, fair progression, and satisfying gameplay without spending money?

Share the title, platform, and what convinced you to finally install it. Your recommendation might rescue a hidden gem from someone else’s backlog.

[News] Stash now auto-scraps duplicate items — but only same-tier ones

The Stash just added auto-scrap for duplicate items of the same type and tier, so no more manually clearing out exact duplicates. It doesn't touch cross-tier duplicates though, so if you pull a tier 2 item while already holding tier 1 of the same type, that tier 1 piece just sits there untouched even though you can only equip one per type anyway.

Given that, is there any real reason to hold onto that lower-tier leftover, or is manually scrapping it the moment a higher tier drops just the smarter move?

[News] Steam Machine delivery could take until 2027 despite June "launch"

Steam Machine started shipping June 30, but a reservation doesn't guarantee quick access. Valve uses a randomized queue with waves of 72-hour purchase windows instead of first-come-first-served. Base 512GB model is $1,049, driven up by the DRAM/NAND shortage from the AI boom, and some buyers could wait until 2027 for their unit. Fair anti-scalper system, or too risky for a $1,000+ purchase?

[Free Game] Xbox Free Play Days let you try Ghost Recon Wildlands, Breakpoint, and NBA 2K26 for free

Xbox just kicked off another round of Free Play Days running from today through August 9, and this batch is stacked for tactical shooter fans. Both Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint are free to try for all Xbox members, no Game Pass subscription required. NBA 2K26 is also part of the lineup, and there's a short trial for Wax Heads if you want something quick and different. It's a good way to test the Ghost Recon open-world co-op loop before deciding whether it's worth picking up permanently on sale. Anyone here planning to jump into Wildlands or Breakpoint this weekend, or is NBA 2K26 the bigger draw?

[Discussion] Moonlighter is free on Steam right now, is it a chill game or a bigger time investment?

Saw that Moonlighter is currently free to claim on Steam, and I'm trying to figure out if it's the kind of game you can pick up for short sessions or if it really demands longer, focused playtime to click. The dungeon crawling plus shopkeeper management combo sounds fun on paper, but I've heard mixed things about how grindy the loop can get later on. For anyone who's already finished it, did it feel satisfying all the way through, or did the pacing drag once the novelty of running your own shop wore off? Curious if it's worth prioritizing this week or something I can slowly chip away at over the next few months.

[Question] Does Equipment Score actually do anything, and what are scrap points even for?

I've been equipping gear from my Itzagud stash and my Equipment Score keeps climbing every time I do it, but I can't find anywhere that explains what this number is actually for or whether it unlocks anything. On top of that, scrapping an item permanently removes it from your stash and awards some kind of scrap points instead, but I have no idea what those points can even be used for or where to check my total. So I'm left with two separate point systems on the same items, and zero explanation for either one. Has anyone figured out what Equipment Score or scrap points actually do, or are they just numbers that go up with no real function behind them?

[Discussion] Steam Free Weekend or permanent Free-to-Keep, which do you prefer?

With the current Steam Free Weekend wrapping up soon and permanent free-to-keep games rotating in regularly, I've been thinking about which type of giveaway actually feels more worthwhile. Free Weekends let you try something bigger or more expensive without any commitment, but the pressure to finish it before the timer runs out can kill the fun a bit. Permanent freebies are usually smaller titles, but you get to keep them forever and play at your own pace whenever you feel like it. Which format do you personally look forward to more, and has a time-limited weekend ever actually convinced you to buy the full game afterward?

[Discussion] What's been the best month for free games so far in 2026?

Looking back at this year, it feels like some months absolutely delivered on free games while others were pretty forgettable in comparison. I keep thinking July was one of the stronger stretches with the Epic Games lineup, the Steam Free Weekend, and a decent batch of permanent freebies all landing close together. But I'm curious if others remember an even better month earlier in the year that I might be forgetting, since it's easy to lose track once you've claimed dozens of these. What's the single month in 2026 that gave you the best haul, and what made it stand out compared to the rest?

[Question] Is CloverPit worth spending 500,000 Premium Progress on this month?

Saw that CloverPit just became the Tier 1 Premium Progress reward starting this month, and I'm on the fence about whether it's worth burning 500,000 progress on it right away. From what I've read, it's a rogue-lite slot machine horror game where you basically gamble for your life in a debt simulator, which sounds like a fun, weird concept but not something everyone will vibe with. I know it sold well and built a decent following after launch, but I'm curious if the replay value actually holds up once you've seen most of the mechanics. Anyone here already unlocked it through Premium Progress, and was it worth prioritizing over saving up for Tier 2 or Tier 3?

[Free Game] Epic Games Store confirms Beacon Pines and We Were Here Together as free on August 6

Epic has officially revealed its next giveaway lineup, confirming that Beacon Pines and We Were Here Together will both become free to claim starting August 6. Beacon Pines is a cozy narrative mystery with a unique word-based storytelling mechanic, while We Were Here Together is a co-op puzzle adventure that's great if you've got a friend to team up with. Combined, the two titles are worth close to $33, so it's a solid pickup even if you only end up playing one of them right away. Anyone here already played either of these before, or planning to wait for the free window to finally try them out?

[News] The "Great Steam Deck Crash of 2026" is sparking big community debates

There's a growing discussion across several PC gaming communities about a reported sales crash for the Steam Deck in 2026, with plenty of theories floating around about what caused it. Some people point to increased competition from other handhelds, while others think it's simply market saturation after years of strong initial sales. It's a surprising turn for a device that dominated the handheld PC gaming conversation for so long after its original launch. Curious if anyone here still uses their Deck regularly, or if it's mostly sitting in a drawer at this point.

[Discussion] Did you catch the recent Steam Free Weekend before it wrapped up?

Steam ran a big Free Weekend that ended on July 27, giving everyone free access to six games including Icarus, Killing Floor 3, Wild Assault, Unrailed 2: Back on Track, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, and the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Version. The lineup leaned heavily into survival and co-op chaos, so it was a solid stretch for anyone who enjoys building bases, fighting hordes, or dealing with constant things going wrong in a good way. I ended up spending most of my time in Killing Floor 3 and Unrailed 2, but I'm curious which one people here actually stuck with the longest. Did any of these convince you to buy the full game afterward, or was it strictly a weekend fling?
