I pasted QR stickers around Pune for my app… and people actually started using it 😭 Need marketing advice

Hey everyone,

I’m a college student from Pune building a social app called SpurSpace. The idea is simple: help people discover plans, meet new people, and actually go outside instead of endlessly scrolling.

A few days ago, me and my co-founder printed some QR stickers/posters and started placing them around FC Road and nearby college areas in Pune. Nothing fancy, just trying things with almost zero budget.

Surprisingly… it started working.

We started seeing traffic coming from the QR scans directly in analytics. Around 15+ sessions already came from the stickers alone, and overall users/events also increased a lot this week.

Honestly, seeing strangers scan something we designed and actually use the app felt unreal.

Right now we’re also planning collaborations with small creators/influencers in Pune. Those videos should start going live in the next few days.

I know this is still very small compared to real SaaS numbers, but I’d genuinely love advice from people here:

  • What kind of low-budget marketing worked for you early on?
  • How would you grow a local/community-based app?
  • Any mistakes we should avoid?
  • Should we double down on offline marketing like stickers/posters?

Would really appreciate honest feedback and suggestions 🙌
