30 days (estimated) in Japan
Hi guys, I will be going to Japan this coming Wednesday, just asking whether if I'm missing out on anything along the way since it was a pretty last minute trip. I am also open to recommendations since it's a pretty sudden trip. I wanted to try cherries at Yamagata and Yubari Melon, other farms and fruit places are also highly recommended if you know any good ones. The only fixed itinerary I have is June 1st 10am Ghibli Museum, fought tooth and nail for it. This is my current tentative itinerary. I wanted to know if the Japan rail pass is worth it or should I get an assorted amount of passes due to the places I am going.
I have also been to Japan last year, did the Golden Route, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and went to most of the popular places and went to Tohoku for a week with JR east pass, did Sendai, Morioka and Aomori all day trips from Sendai, and I wanted to go to more places including Hokkaido since most of the rail might be closing next year.
Day 1 May 20 - KIX- Wakayama
Day 2 Wakayama
Day 3 Osaka (Should I do day trips from Osaka if I get the pass or should I stay at Osaka, Kyoto and Nara)
Day 4 Osaka
Day 5 Kobe

Day 7 Nara
Day 8 Kanazawa
Day 9 Kanazawa, Shirakawago

Day 14 Tokyo (Maybe Fuji)
Day 15 Tokyo (Shimokitazawa or Day trip to Nikko?)
Day 16 Yamagata (Cherries)
Day 17 Yamagata
Day 18 Yamagata
Day 19 Yamagata
Day 20 Akita
Day 21 Akita (Resort Shirakami)
Day 22 Aomori/Hirosaki
Day 23 Aomori/Hirosaki (Hirosaki Apple Park)
Day 24 Aomori -> Sapporo
Day 25 Sapporo (Shiroi Koibito Park)
Day 26 Noboribetsu (Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley)
Day 27 Yubari (Yubari Melon)
Day 28 Sapporo -> Wakkanai
Day 29 Wakkanai ->Sapporo

Thinking of either removing days from Tokyo or days from Yamagata for more days in Wakkanai and Nemuro but I might be removing one of them since it just takes so long to travel from Sapporo. All recommendations or different perspectives are welcome, not a veteran at planning this long trips. I have an ICOCA card if that matters.
