1 year on Finasteride + Oral Minoxidil with little results — time to switch?
I’ve been taking oral finasteride 1 mg daily for a bit over a year now, along with 2.5 mg oral minoxidil daily. Unfortunately, I haven’t really noticed any meaningful regrowth, and I’m not even sure my hair loss has stabilized.
My hair loss was never extremely aggressive or fast, but it has always been slowly progressing. My impression is that it’s still continuing despite treatment, especially around the hairline, which seems to keep receding gradually.
At this point I’m wondering whether it might make sense to switch from finasteride to dutasteride, and possibly increase oral minoxidil to 5 mg daily.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation where finasteride didn’t seem to do much, but dutasteride helped? And did increasing oral minoxidil make a noticeable difference for you?
Would appreciate any experiences or advice.
