Words can’t explain how good this movie is, maybe my tears can. I went in knowing it was going to be heavy, but i wasn’t prepared for how devastating it actually was. Four people sitting in a room talking shouldn’t be this gripping, It’s quiet and raw. Just 4 people trying to live with something they can never undo.

I recently saw a post here from someone thinking about creating a WhatsApp group for people in Zimbabwe who appreciate good films and TV shows. It made me realise there might be quite a few of us looking for a space to actually talk about cinema.
So instead of just a WhatsApp group i decided to create r/ZimCinephiles — a dedicated community for Zimbabwean cinephiles.
The goal is to have conversations that go beyond whatever happens to be trending. Talk about directors, cinematography, screenwriting, performances, film history, international cinema, African cinema, classics, arthouse, independent films, hidden gems and yes the occasional blockbuster.
It’s not about being elitist or proving who’s seen the most obscure films. It’s about finding people who genuinely enjoy cinema and want to discuss it.
Zimbabwe is the home base, but cinephiles from anywhere are welcome.
The community is brand new, so I’m open to suggestions on what people would like to see there film clubs, watch parties, discussions, recurring posts, local screenings, etc.
I’m also looking for a few people interested in helping moderate and build the community from the ground up, especially people who are genuinely passionate about film.
