What’s the point of reforming pagan faiths?

I’m playing my first Ante Bellum campaign, as Norway -> North Sea Empire, and seeing the decision to «Reform the Norse faith». But it requires taking religious ideas, and I’m not sure if that’s worth it. So what do I gain from reforming my faith?

France into Rome (just barely) pre 1700

Was actually a pretty chill run for me, mainly because i got an INSANELY lucky succession war for Castile as an attacker vs Aragon, Austria and Florence. That war was really the only hard part of the run, the rest was mostly just cycling through wars on different fronts to manage AE. Also no cb-ed byz, my favourite war declaration. I know this is not the most impressive run, but I'm still really pleased with it, as it's my first "big" achievement. Going for Mare Nostrum before Age of revolutions too, and then completing the french and revolutionary french mission trees. Speaking of revolutionary franch missions, do you lose your other missions upon activating them, or are they just added at the bottom? LMK

PS: I tagged it as an achievement, as that felt like the most apprpopriate and it is a big achievement for me, but I'll change it if that's incorrect.
