Do you think the creators knewy already in season 1 what was going to happen in season 3?

I’ve just started a rewatch, this is a scene from Season 1, after Nina just had just given birth and had given the baby away to her friend who had used her as a surrogate. Do you think the creators knew already what was going to happen to Ephram?!

Unrealistic friendships

Spoilers until season 2

I’ve just finished the series and loved it, but these points bothered me:

There’s this character in season 1, a school mate from Ephram, he looks like he’s on the pop punk kind of style and he helps Ephram get the piano gig for the ballet class. Why does he do that and what happened to that guy?
I feel the friendship between Ephram and Bright is forced at the beginning, they’re so different and Ephram just doesn’t contribute in anyway to the friendship in season 2, when they actually start being friends. The karaoke party with Delia and the trip for Ephram’s audition: why would Bright be there for any of that when Ephram is not doing anything to be his friend?
The Lainey character: it’s so sad Amy snaps at her and then we never see her again! Why don’t we ever see Amy calling her and apologizing?
