[S] Clash of Worlds 5

The below-the-sea lowlands of the Netherlands welcome in a new season of Clash of Worlds. Previously, it was Annie Middelkoop who claimed the title of “Champion Of The World”. Now, she gets to crown one of these sixteen people…

Alessio Balsamo - Italy

Anežka Richterová - Czechia

Dania Sabillon - Honduras

Ellie Burton - United Kingdom

George Kalokoh - Sierra Leone

Hanna Kristjánsdóttir - Iceland

Jin-ho Yoon - South Korea

Marija Ćorić - Croatia

Miguel Albornoz - Argentina

Onalenna Motsumi - Botswana

Pablo Orellana - Chile

Paulo Lopes - Cape Verde

Ramon Rivera - Dominican Republic

Sze Yu Tang - Hong Kong

Taavi Nurk - Estonia

Zara Guzman - United States

Before the season even begins, a random draw occurs to determine who picks the tribes. Zara and George are the lucky ones.

Zara drafts Ramon, Onaenna, Jin-ho, Sze Yu, Pablo, Marija, and Alessio to her tribe.

Georgs drafts Anežka, Miguel, Ellie, Paulo, Hanna, Taavi, and Dania to his tribe.

Zara’s tribe will be known as the Vuurbaak Tribe.

George’s tribe will be known as the Schemering Tribe.

Episode 1: >!Zara begins to question her tribemate choices, as Alessio begins stirring trouble on the Vuurbaak Tribe, having disagreements with her and Jin-ho. However, it doesn’t stop Pablo and Ramon from forming a Latino alliance. Things do not seem to be greener on the other side as Ellie and Hanna have a major fight! Dania and George bond really deeply and form an alliance, even roping in Miguel. Vuurbaak ends up winning the first immunity challenge. Taavi is the main target, as he’s really bad at challenges and he’s an exceptionally good social player. Fearing another possible social winner, they swiftly take care of him, and Taavi Nurk of Estonia is the first person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5.!<

Episode 2: >!On the Vuurbaak Tribe, Ramon and Zara get closer to one another. He convinces Pablo to ditch the Latino alliance, and they expand to an even bigger alliance, including Jin-ho, Onalenna, Sze Yu, Zara, and themselves. Marija and Onalenna also bond really strongly. Something similar happens on the Schemering Tribe, as a fight with Ellie causes Dania to disband the initial alliance and expand it to include everyone but Ellie. Once again, the Vuurbaak Tribe wins immunity, sealing Ellie’s fate. Although she tries to fight hard, she cannot fight the incoming tidal wave. Ellie Burton of the United Kingdom is the second person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5.!<

Episode 3: >!Things are calm on the Vuurbaak Tribe. Pablo and Sze Yu bond. Marija impresses the team. Onalenna and Ramon also bond slightly. Leveraging his newfound bonds with Onalenna and Zara, he ropes them into an alliance. Following Ellie’s departure, things are finally peaceful on the Schemering Tribe. Anežka and Miguel bond slightly. However, cracks begin to form in the huge alliance, as Paulo leaves the alliance and forms an alliance with Dania to get closer to her. Vuurbaak continue to bully Schemering as they win immunity once again. Unfortunately, his alliance with Dania is not enough to create a true crack. The tidal wave strikes, and Paulo Lopes of Cape Verde is the third person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5.!<

Episode 4: >!Alessio continues to wreak havoc on the Vuurbaak Tribe, as he has a disagreement with Jin-ho, and an even bigger fight with Marija, Jin-ho and Zara bond over Alessio’s antics. Dania and George continue to bond with each other, reaffirming their strong Day 1 bond. Hanna, fearing a possible power duo, defects from the mega alliance, now calling themselves the Tidal Wave alliance. However, the Vuurbaak (the real tidal waves) win immunity for a fourth consecutive time. Hanna realises that she might’ve defected too early, but it’s too late, as the Tidal Wave claims another victim. Hanna Kristjánsdóttir of Iceland is the fourth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5.!<

Episode 5: >!In a jaw-dropping twist, the tribes are offered a chance to mutiny and change tribes. No one on Schemering Tribe budges. Vuurbaak each breathe a sigh of relief as Alessio mutinies to the Schemering Tribe. On the Vuurbaak Tribe, Zara and Jin-ho bond even more. Zara pulls off a ballsy move and leaves the massive Vuurbaak alliance, thinking that her solo relationships will be enough to insulate her. Despite Alessio’s arrival, things are calm on the Schemering Tribe. Dania and Miguel bond, and George impresses his tribe. In a massive reversal of fate, Schemering Tribe manages to win immunity over Vuurbaak for once. Zara comes under the crossfire, but she manages to pull in Jin-ho and Ramon (and to a lesser extent, Onalenna) to vote to save her. In another massive reversal of fate, Marija Ćorić of Croatia is the fifth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5.!<

Episode 6: >!After the massive blindside last episode on Vuurbaak Tribe, Zara gets closer to Onalenna, the girl who essentially saves her ass in the game. The Asians of the tribe, Jin-ho and Sze Yu, get close to one another. Dania gets even closer to George and even tries her hand at bonding with Anežka. Against all odds, Schemering Tribe pulls off another upset win, sending Vuurbaak to tribal council again. Zara sets her sights on Sze Yu, but the Vuurbaak alliance strikes back even harder. They cause the vote to tie. Both sides fight fiercely, and the tie becomes deadlocked. Jin-ho, Onalenna, Pablo, and Ramon have a fierce discussion over whether to keep Sze Yu or Zara. A consensus is not reached and for the first time in Clash of Worlds history, rocks will be drawn. The four remaining contestants draw rocks from a bag, and Pablo Orellana of Chile is the sixth person eliminated from Clash of Worlds 5.!<

Episode 7: >!Finally, the tribes are told that they will be living on one camp from now on. Although they immediately assume it’s a merge, they quickly find out that it’s a fake merge, and they’ve been conned. George and Onalenna bond over both being Africans. Anežka, Dania, and George band together, adopting Jin-ho and Sze Yu from the other tribe. In a work of art, Schemering Tribe ends up beating the Vuurbaak Tribe a third time. Although Jin-ho and Sze Yu try to take Zara out again, they decide to punish the two for turning on the tribe. They set their sights on one of them, and Jin-ho Yoon of South Korea is the seventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5.!<

Episode 8: >!Despite the jury phase officially starting, the Vuurbaak Tribe and Schemering Tribe remain unmerged with one another. Dania and Zara, the two most powerful women on their tribes, strike up a conversation and find that they’ve got a lot more in common than they thought. The same can be seen with Ramon and Miguel as they get closer. However, Alessio has a minor clash with former tribemate Onalenna. Finally, Vuurbaak get it together and equalises as they win immunity. The Tidal Wave decide to just cut the weak link straight up in order to remain truly intact, and Alessio Balsamo of Italy is the eighth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5 and the first member of the jury.!<

Episode 9: >!After what seemed like forever, Vuurbaak Tribe and Schemering Tribe finally merged into one tribe (for real this time): the Onderstaand Tribe. The camp remains seemingly docile and peaceful as nothing of note happens, except George and Onalenna bonding even more. Onalenna ends up winning the first individual immunity of the season. The Tidal Wave set their sights on Zara, but the Vuurbaaks decide to stick together and go for George. In a similar fate to the Vuurbaak’s second tribal council, the votes end up tied and deadlocked. The two sights fight with flames. It looks like there won’t be a consensus, and another rock draw happens. The Vuurbaaks lose a crucial ally, and Ramon Rivera of the Dominican Republic is the ninth person eliminated from Clash of Worlds 5 and the second member of the jury.!<

Episode 10: >!Zara, seeing that the Vuurbaak Tribe went from being the dominant tribe to being relegated to the minority, convinces Onalenna and Sze Yu to let her into their alliance. Meanwhile, Sze Yu cultivates her relationship with the Schemerings as she bonds with Dania. Once again, Onalenna wins individual immunity. Zara is ultimately backed into a corner where there is no one else to go. Despite Onalenna voting with her, Sze Yu joins forces with the Tidal Wave, and Zara Guzman of the United States is the tenth person voted out from Clash of Worlds 5 and the third member of the jury.!<

Episode 11: >!Sze Yu begins to further integrate herself into the Schemerings as she gets cosy with George. George also becomes much closer to Vuurbaak member Onalenna. Anežka and Miguel also get closer. In a change of events, Dania ends up winning individual immunity over Onalenna. Despite George’s close relationship with Onalenna, the Schemerings cannot risk Onalenna dominating again once the numbers whittle down. Onalenna Motsumi of Botswana is the eleventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5 and the fourth member of the jury.!<

Episode 12: >!Sze Yu, figuring that she is definitely next on the chopping block, gets even closer to George. Anežka also makes a bigger effort to get closer to her Schemering teammates as she bonds strongly with George and finds common ground with Dania. It ends up paying off, with Anežka winning individual immunity. The Tidal Wave begin to close in on Sze Yu, the last Vuurbaak left. However, in an act that can only be described as divine intervention, Miguel suddenly collapses from exhaustion. It is determined that he can no longer continue in the game, and Miguel Albornoz of Argentina is the twelfth person eliminated from Clash of Worlds 5 and the fifth member of the jury.!<

Finale Part 1: >!The endgame has officially arrived, and the final four immediately go into overdrive. George begins to impress the rest of the team. Sze Yu tries her hardest to win immunity, but she ends up coming short, and George snatches her only chance of staying in the game by winning immunity. She desperately hopes that she can exploit a possible crack in the Tidal Wave, but she knows that it’s practically futile. The Tidal Wave finally crashes onto the shoreline, and Sze Yu Tang of Hong Kong is the thirteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5 and the sixth member of the jury.!<

Finale Part 2: >!Now, only Schemering Tribe remains on the Onderstaand Tribe camp, a far cry from their early days of the game. Realising that the final tribal council is one immunity challenge away, Dania works overtime on her social game. She grows incredibly close to both Anežka and George. However, she doesn’t need it in the long run, as she secures a spot in the final tribal council by winning the final immunity challenge. Although she treasures the bond she made with Anežka, her day 1 bond with George proves to be much more valuable to her. She casts her deciding vote, and Anežka Richterová of Czechia is the fourteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 5 and the final member of the jury.!<

Finale Part 3: >!Two contestants remained once more at camp. A tale as old as time. Dania Sabillon of Honduras and George Kalokoh of Sierra Leone. Similar to the previous season, they grew close on the same tribe, and that bond manages to get them further and further into the game as everyone else drops like flies. Now, they face the untimely fate that every duo that makes it far: they face each other. Soon, they both face final tribal council together. Dania goes first. She explains how she birthed the Tidal Wave alliance, and how it allowed her to exercise total power over whoever was to go home. She also explains how the rock draw ended up giving her the upper hand, as she began bulldozing over the former Voorbaaks, and how, despite her being the ring leader of the Tidal Wave, she had managed to receive no votes throughout the game. George goes next, explaining how he managed to cultivate relationships with people from the other tribe, notably Onalenna and Sze Yu. He also adds that his close relationship with Sze Yu convinced her to flip on her former tribemates, thus speeding up their domination over the Vuurbaaks. While George presented a strong case, Dania’s total control over the game was infinitely more impressive. While Sze Yu throws a pity vote for George, the rest of the jury band together to vote Dania Sabillon of Honduras as the “Champion Of The World” and the winner of Clash of Worlds 5!!<

My Thoughts: >!Coming into this season, I had low hopes. I was convinced that no season was going to top Clash of Worlds 4. I’ve never been happier to be proven wrong. Although this season was a lot less chaotic, it definitely felt more cohesive. Seeing the Vuurbaak Tribe become the dominant tribe to getting Pagonged towards the end…holy cinema, dude. I also love how once again, there was a bigger spread in who won immunity. Although the Schemering Tribe were undoubtedly the stars of the season, the Vuurbaak Tribe also had their own stars in Sze Yu, in her integration with the Schemerings and her ultimate contribution to her tribe’s demise,  and Zara’s insane underdog run from leaving the alliance in Episode 5 to surviving TWO rock draws and copping a massive 22 votes (for context, the second most votes anyone got this season was 8). Onto the winner, Dania. When I think of what a Survivor winner should be, Dania fits that definition like a puzzle. She ended up forming THE dominant alliance of the season, getting closer with the people in her core group, winning immunity challenges when she needed to, and did all of that without receiving a single vote. Easily the best winner of Clash of Worlds. Perfect season. Perfect winner. Clash of Worlds 6 is going to have a hard time topping this.!<

But what do YOU think? Did >!Dania!< deserve the win? Or did >!George deserve more credit for his social game!<? I’d love to read your opinions in the comments down below!

Zakayaah Pir - Afghanistan

Episode 1 - >!On the Wanza Tribe, Dana and Zakayaah, right off the bat, form a deep bond together. They decide to form an alliance and include Lucia and Stéphane. However, Lucia and Stéphane do end up clashing with some people, Tyler and Dawit, respectively. On the Chilfit Tribe, Annie and Erik also form a deep bond with one another. At the inaugural immunity challenge, Wanza ends up winning. Annie and Erik decide that they want their first victim to be Nelson for being the least connected with everyone. Although Nelson begins to scramble and tries to begin a counter-movement on Ines, it fails, and Nelson Garay of Puerto Rico is the first person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4.!<

Episode 2 - >!Things begin to crack on the Wanza Tribe as Dawit and Stéphane have another clash. This time, it has a bigger impact and it’s clear that they do not get along. Zakayaah doesn’t feel like she trusts Lucia and Stéphane as much as she trusts Dana, so she leaves their alliance. Andrija becomes super tired from working hard and rests alongside Tyler. The two bond. Things aren’t as well on the Chilfit Tribe either, as Farhad and Natalia have a minor disagreement. However, Natalia makes up for it by working hard. Annie decides to broaden her horizons and bonds strongly with Vladimír. This time, Chilfit end up victorious over Wanza at the immunity challenge. Although Dawit and Stéphane target each other, Lucia uses this as an opportunity to get rid of her day 1 feud, Tyler. She tests her alliance out and asks them to vote with her, and it works. Tyler Pitts of New Zealand is the second person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4.!<

Episode 3 - >!Implosions happen on the Wanza Tribe as Dana doesn’t cope well with the elements and has a meltdown. Meanwhile, Stéphane decides that he would rather work with other people and also leaves the Wanza alliance. Finally, things are peaceful on the Chillfit Tribe, as a massive alliance comprised of Annie, Erik, Ines, Natalia, Seydou, and Vladimír forms. Seeing as he is at the bottom, Farhad also has a meltdown. Things are made worse for Farhad as Wanza end up being the winners of the immunity challenge. He has a temper tantrum back at camp, and it’s over for him. Natalia seals his fate, and Farhad Safarov of Azerbaijan is the third person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4.!<

Episode 4 - >!The contestants are taken to a remote area where they are asked to stand on tiles. Then, whichever colour disc they are standing on, that becomes their new tribe. Andrija, Dana, Erik, Ines, Natalia, Seydou, and Stéphane stand on neon green tiles and go to the Wanza Tribe. Annie, Cristian, Dawit, Lucia, Vladimír, and Zakaayah stand on blue tiles and go to the Chilfit Tribe. On the new Wanza Tribe, inter-tribal relationships begin to strengthen as Dana and Erik find something in common, and Andrija and Natalia bond strongly. Natalia also decides to form an alliance with Seydou, the person she was closest to back on Chilfit. Speaking of the Chilfit Tribe, Zakayaah begins impressing everyone. Vladimír is especially impressed, and the two bond. Cristian and Dawin find something in common, sparking a bond. At the immunity challenge, New Wanza end up demolishing New Chilfit. Annie decides to exercise her new bond with Vladimír as the two gun for Cristian. It’s extremely successful, and Cristian Orjuea of Colombia is the fourth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4.!<

Episode 5 - >!On the Wanza Tribe, Dana makes a complete social recovery as she begins to impress everyone on the team. However, the peace is interrupted as Andrija and Stéphane have a major fight. On the Chilfit Tribe, it’s Vladimír who begins impressing everyone. It attracts the attention of Lucia, and they bond strongly. Meanwhile, Ines, feeling like she’s not as well-connected to the rest of her super alliance as the rest, quietly withdraws from it. She is spared; Wanza end up winning immunity. Vladimír is set on taking out Dawit, who, despite being a camp provider, was shaping up to be a possible threat going into the merge. He goes into overdrive, and Dawit Hagos of Eritrea is the fifth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4.!<

Episode 6 - >!With the merge looming over everyone’s heads, things begin to shake on the Wanza Tribe, as Erik gets into fights with Dana and Seydou. However, in the aftermath, Dana manages to find solace in Natalia, and the two bond together. Despite being decimated, the Chilfit Tribe begins to reinforce itself socially. Lucia begins impressing the tribe, and Vladimír strike common ground with Annie and then with Lucia as well. Chilfit’s newfound social cohesion ends up working for them, as they pull an upset win and win immunity for the first time in three episodes. The fracturing of the Wanza Tribe becomes more evident as the scramble begins. Andrija and Stéphane want each other gone, while Erik wants Ines gone for renegading from the alliance. At tribal council, things tense up as the vote count is at 2-2-2, but 2-2-2 becomes 3-2-2, and Ines Ortiz of the Dominican Republic is the sixth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4.!<

Episode 7 - >!After what seems like ages, Chilfit and Wanza merge into one tribe, the Eleqa Tribe. Old friends reunite with their besties from the other tribe, and the massive Chilfit alliance regroups. Things immediately explode as Annie and Lucia have a big fight, and Stéphane gets into a fight with Seydou and deepens his rivalry with Andrija. Exhausted from all the fighting, Andrija, Lucia, and Vladimír get together away from camp, and form an alliance.  Seydou ends up winning the first individual challenge of the season. Although the consensus is that the Andrija-Stéphane feud needs to end with Stéphane going, Annie and Erik, alongside Dana and Lucia, want to send Andrija home instead. In a shocking result, Andrija and Stéphane end up tying in a 5-5 vote. However, a deadlock was prevented, and Stéphane Roux of Monaco is the seventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4.!<

Episode 8 - >!An already exhausted Eleqa Tribe, following a crazy vote-out, does not end up chilling out as Dana and Vladimír immediately disagree with something. However, Annie begins to socialise with Lucia, knowing that the jury phase has finally gone. Erik works hard at camp, and tires himself out. Annie wins the first individual reward challenge of the season, but it is her other ally Erik who wins individual immunity. Once again, arrows fly everywhere as everyone begins to target everyone else. Dana and Lucia want Natalia out for being too well-connected. Annie and Erik still want to try and take Andrija out. The Chilfit super alliance want to weaken the Wanzas and take out Zakayaah. Once again, the Eleqa Tribe erupts into another live tribal council and another tie happens; this time it’s a 3-3-3 between Andrija, Natalia, and Zakayaah. Annie and Erik use this as an opportunity to redirect the vote into their favour, and Andrija Vrbanec is the eighth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4 and the first member of the jury.!<

Episode 9 - >!Eleqa begins to fracture even more as Erik and Lucia have a major fight with one another. Dana and Lucia have a minor disagreement, but it’s enough to wedge the two Wanza members apart. Exhausted from all the chaos at camp, Vladimír works hard at camp and becomes tired. Lucia and Vladimír win a nice reward, but Erik wins his second individual immunity in a row. The former Chilfits try to bring unity onto the camp by trying to get rid of the other Wanzas. They start with Zakayaah, whom they tried to get out initially, while Lucia innocently pitches for Natalia. A simple vote cannot take place as stray votes for Dana and Vladimír fly out, but despite Lucia and Zakayaah voting for Natalia, the Chilfits get the final say, and Zakayaah Pir of Afghanistan is the ninth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4 and the second member of the jury.!<

Episode 10 - >!For once, it seems like a ceasefire was signed and there is peace on the Eleqa Tribe. Erik is impressing the team with his hard work, and Dana, for once, has some time to relax at camp and restore her energy. Erik wins reward and brings along Annie, reassuring their status as best friends. Erik’s immunity streak ends as Seydou ends up winning immunity. Although the Chilfits want to take Dana out, Annie and Erik want to take Lucia out instead. Natalia and Seydou echo the sentiment. In a stunning twist of fate, the target shifts off of Dana, and Lucia Dhliwayo of Zimbabwe is the tenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4 and the third member of the jury.!<

Episode 11 - >!Very much akin to the Christmas truce of World War 1, conflict immediately returns when Dana and Seydou have a big fight with one another. Meanwhile, Erik works peacefully in the background, away from all the camp drama. Erik completely dominates the challenges this episode, as he manages to win both reward and immunity for himself. For once, Eleqa is a united front. Seeing as the Eleqa Tribe is now comprised of five former Chilfits and one former Wanza, it couldn’t be any clearer what was to happen. Despite her desperate attempt at voting Seydou out and a random stray vote for Annie (after all, this is still Eleqa), Dana Kadyrova of Kazakhstan is the eleventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4 and the fourth member of the jury.!<

Episode 12 - >!Although the Chilfits had managed to successfully capitalise on the dysfunction of the Wanzas and systematically eliminate them, now they were faced with having to turn on one another. With the Chilfits at the helm, things are now more peaceful on the Eleqa Tribe. Erik and Vladimír grow closer to one another, and Annie and Natalia also bond. However, the peace is broken when Erik and Seydou have a massive fight. Natalia wins the reward challenge, and once again, Seydou prevents Erik from starting another immunity streak. Civil war erupts on the Chilfit. Annie and Erik want Natalia out for being way too well-connected, while Natalia and Seydou want Erik out to prevent his steamroll, thrusting Vladimír in the middle. He ends up ceding the power over to Annie and Erik, and Natalia Fuentes of Uruguay is the twelfth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4 and the fifth member of the jury.!<

Finale

Part 1 - >!The Chilfit civil war effect ripples throughout the Eleqa Tribe. Erik begins to work hard around camp to try and win immunity to prevent Seydou from winning the next immunity. Annie decides to deepen her bond with Vladimír, making sure that he’s going to be fully committed to their side. Seydou, seeing that he is undeniably on the bottom and that his only way of staying in this game is to win immunity, isolates himself and officially leaves the alliance. Unfortunately, Seydou’s efforts are in vain, as Erik pulls out the immunity win. He knows that it’s over for him, and it shows in his behaviour at tribal council that night. In the season’s first unanimous vote, Seydou Combari of Burkina Faso is the thirteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4 and the sixth member of the jury.!<

Part 2 - >!With Seydou gone, the Clash of Worlds franchise is officially guaranteed its first European winner. For once, truly this time, peace had fallen on the Eleqa Tribe. Vladimír strengthens his relationships with Annie and Erik with the hopes that he’ll charm them into bringing him to the final tribal council, blissfully unaware of the already reinforced duo of Annie and Erik. When Erik wins the final immunity challenge, Vladimír was sure that Erik will bring him over Annie. He was in for a nasty surprise at tribal council, and Vladimír Sklenar of Slovakia is the fourteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 4 and the final member of the jury.!<

Part 3 - >!Finally, only two contestants remained on the beach: Annie Middelkoop of the Netherlands and Erik Lõhmus of Estonia. The two had first crossed paths on the Chilfit Tribe, and the two managed to form a bond that withstood the test of time, and now…they were finally forced to face each other. The sun sets, and the final tribal council begins. Erik and Annie work in complete synchrony. Annie explains how she was the brains of the duo and how she managed to protect Erik throughout the tumultuous early days of the merge, while Erik explains how he was the brawn of the duo and how he managed to win all but two immunities, essentially keeping himself safe. It feels more like a declaration of love for one another than a pitch to convince the jury. Despite both pleas being strong, they found that while Erik had played an undeniably physical game, they found Annie’s plea of controlling and maneuvering through the merge much more appealing. In a shocking 4-3 vote, Annie Middelkoop of the Netherlands is crowned “Champion of the World” and the winner of Clash of Worlds 4!!<

My Thoughts: >!Oh. My. God. That was one of the most chaotic seasons I think I’ve ever simmed. Maybe the most chaotic season point blank. From start to finish, we were blessed with so many iconic moments. The Andrija-Stéphane feud, Farhad’s meltdown, the TWO ties at the start of the merge, the pagoning of Wanza Tribe, the Chilfit civil war…even the winner was chaotic too because WHERE did Annie winning come from??? I was so convinced that Erik was winning because surely, that great of a resume would warrant a 7-0 win, but Brantsteele truly does have a way of surprising you. In the end, I still consider her a stronger winner over Gideon simply because of the fact that she used Erik as a meatshield to take her all the way to the final 2 and also managed to keep herself mostly intact. I’m not going to lie, though, I am getting sick of the social/strategic player beats out comp beast trope…but it was still so refreshing to finally see a power duo dominate all the way to the finale. This was justice for Orla/Lucas and Sienna/Laisa.!<

But what do YOU think? Did >!Annie!< deserve the win? Or did >!Erik!< deserve to >!break the cycle of challenge beasts losing to strategic players!< and win? I’d love to read your opinions in the comments down below!

[S] Clash of Worlds 3

Previously, Gideon Teoh from Malaysia successfully inherited the next Champion of the World title. Now, sixteen more contestants travel to Malaysia hoping to win that title. Will someone come out of nowhere and swoop the win, or will the dominant force finally prevail? Here are the sixteen people vying for the win…

Andrea Browne - Antigua and Barbuda

Claire Blackwell - United Kingdom

Dustin Wijayanti - Indonesia

Erlan Toktosunov - Kyrgyzstan

Halldór Sverrisson - Iceland

Irada Berdiyeva - Turkmenistan

Kanon Takamoto - Japan

Kyle Libunao - Philippines

Melaku Atsede - Ethopia

Özcan Selçuk - Turkey

Paloma de Oliveira - Brazil

Romina Castillo - Venezuela

Sanjay Sharma - Fiji

Sumalee Khoipraserit - Thailand

Sydney Monaghan - Australia

Yuheng Zhao - China

Episode 1 - >!On the Pasir Tribe, Yuheng doesn’t start off on the right foot as he has a little spat with Paloma and disagrees on something with Melaku. Paloma and Melaku bond slightly over their negative experiences with Yuheng. Meanwhile, Melaku also forms an alliance with Claire and Irada. Meanwhile, over at the Ketam Tribe, Andrea is already impressing the tribe, but has a major blowout with Özcan. She quickly rallies Erlan and Kanon, and they have an alliance. Kanon and Sydney also have some bonding time and find something in common. At the immunity challenge, although the Ketam Tribe wins immunity, Dustin tears his ACL during the challenge. It is determined that he can no longer continue in the game. Despite Pasir losing the immunity challenge, Dustin Wijayanti is the first person eliminated from Clash of Worlds 3.!<

Episode 2 - >!Although the Pasir Tribe is spared from tribal council, things do not simmer down. Claire and Halldór have a major fight over the food rations. Halldór blows off his steam to Paloma, causing the two to bond. A rattled Claire leaves her alliance with Irada and Melaku. The aftermath of Dustin’s medical evacuation has not improved camp life. Özcan and Sydney have a minor disagreement, and Kanon and Sumalee have a small fight. Erlan doesn’t feel like Andrea and Kanon are the right allies for him, so he abandons their alliance. Meanwhile, another alliance comprised of Kanon, Sanjay, and Sydney is formed. Despite being down a member, the Ketam Tribe end up winning the immunity challenge, finally sending the Pasir Tribe to tribal council. Despite Melaku wanting to target Yuheng for his past disagreements with him, Irada wants Kyle out for costing them the challenge. She convinces Melaku to abandon his target, and Kyle Libunao of the Philippines is the second person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3.!<

Episode 3 - >!Fresh from tribal council, Melaku begins to impress the team. Claire and Halldór have another explosive blowout. However, Melaku manages to rope everyone in the tribe except for Yuheng into one big mega alliance. On the Ketam Tribe, things are more peaceful. Despite Özcan and Sumalee getting into a minor fight, Andrea and Sydney find something in common and bond. The Pasir Tribe wins their first immunity challenge, sending the Ketam Tribe to their first tribal council. Despite the blame for the unharmonious tribe atmosphere falling on Sumalee thanks to Kanon’s campaign, Sanjay and Sydney believe they should take Erlan out, as they find him very shady and untrustworthy. In the end, Kanon is blindsided by her alliance, and Erlan Toktosunov of Kyrgyzstan is the third person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3.!<

Episode 4 - >!On the Pasir Tribe, things are finally calmer. Melaku and Romina work extra hard providing for the camp, impressing the rest of the tribe. Halldór finds solace in Irada as the two bond strongly. In contrast, the Ketam Tribe couldn’t be even more fractured. Andrea and Sumalee have a verbal altercation, while Özcan and Kanon get into an even bigger fight. Kanon, feeling betrayed by Sanjay and Sydney, decides to leave their alliance. The Ketam Tribe cannot pull it together at the immunity challenge and are sent to tribal council after the Pasir Tribe wins immunity. Both Özcan and Sumalee are being targeted for being instigators at camp, but because of her poor challenge performance, especially compared to Özcan, Sumalee Khoipraserit of Thailand is the fourth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3.!<

Episode 5 - >!Before the immunity challenge, the tribes are asked to choose three people. The Pasir Tribe choose Claire, Halldór, and Yuheng. The Ketam Tribe choose Andrea, Kanon, and Özcan. In a shocking twist, it is revealed that the three players will switch tribes with one another. Claire, Halldór, and Yuheng move to the Ketam Tribe, and Andrea, Kanon, and Özcan move to the Pasir Tribe. Andrea integrates well into the Pasir Tribe, as she bonds with Paloma right off the bat. Halldór is also integrating well on the Ketam Tribe, as he and Sydney find something in common. The same cannot be said for Claire, as she has a big fight with Sanjay. Feeling like she can’t withstand having to work with Halldór any longer, she leaves the Pasir mega alliance. The Ketam Tribe, thanks to their new Pasir additions, win immunity for once, sending Pasir to tribal council. Word spreads fast of Özcan’s penchant for mischief thanks to Kanon. Fearing that it could lead to instability, they act swiftly, and Özcan Selçuk of Turkey is the fifth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3.!<

Episode 6 - >!Kanon impresses the rest of the Pasir Tribe for seemingly integrating well despite having joined recently. This places Romina on high alert and causes a small fight between the two girls. In the Ketam Tribe, Halldór and Sydney get even closer with one another as they begin to bond more deeply. Meanwhile, Yuheng, with a combination of feeling weaker and feeling isolated from the Ketam Tribe, has a mental breakdown. At the immunity challenge, it is Pasir that wins immunity, sending Ketam to tribal council. Although Sydney’s name begins floating around, Halldór is unwilling to cut his new ally. When Sydney goes to him and tries to pitch Yuheng’s name for his mental breakdown affecting him during the challenge, he’s sold. Halldór turns on his Pasir members, and Yuheng Zhao of China is the sixth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3.!<

Episode 7 - >!The two teams merge, bringing Ketam and Pasir together to form the Rumpai Tribe. The prior tribe swap brings interesting dynamics into the merge tribe. Claire and Romina have a small fight. Romina and Kanon work hard at camp, gaining the approval of their new teammates. Despite her wobbly start on the new merged tribe, Claire manages to win the first individual immunity of the season. Sydney’s name is brought up once again, jeopardising Halldór’s bond with her. He tries to pivot it towards Paloma for her untrustworthiness, but the numbers are not enough. He ends up reluctantly joining the Pasirs, and Sydney Monaghan of Australia is the seventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3.!<

Episode 8 - >!Kanon manages to integrate more deeply into the Rumpai Tribe as she and Romina bond strongly. Kanon brings Andrea, and Romina brings Paloma into an alliance between the two duos. The new Paloma-Romina duo is strengthened as Paloma brings Romina along on a reward after Paloma wins a reward challenge. Meanwhile, Halldór is the one who ends up winning immunity. Claire’s violent social game finally catches up to her, and despite a late interest in blindsiding Sanjay in the new alliance, Paloma flips, and Claire Blackwell of the United Kingdom is the eighth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3 and the first member of the jury.!<

Episode 9 - >!Things are unusually peaceful on the Rumpai Tribe. Kanon decides to mend relationships with her former tribemate Sanjay, and the two find something in common. Andrea works hard at camp, tending to the fire and whatnot, and burns herself out as a result. At the reward challenge, players are randomly paired up, and Halldór and Kanon end up winning reward, offering a rare chance to bond over movie night. Romina also ends up winning immunity. Andrea and Kanon decide to stay Ketam strong and want to vote out Halldór for fear of a possible domination, but they are overpowered by the Pasir and their determination to cut the head of Ketan’s strategic snake, Sanjay. Sanjay Sharma of Fiji is the ninth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3 and the second member of the jury.!<

Episode 10 - >!Despite being blindsided, Andrea and Kanon attempt to get on everyone’s good graces. Kanon goes over to Irada, someone who she hasn’t strategised with much, and attempts to bond with her. It works. Andrea finds even more success with alliance member Paloma, as the two bond strongly. All while this is happening, Melaku’s hard work is earning the praise of the other members of Rumpai. The beloved Clash of Bids returns for season 3, and everyone gets a chance to bid on luxury food items. Luckily, the entire auction goes without anyone bidding on a gag item. It refuels their energy, and it is the most effective with Paloma, as she ends up winning immunity! Once again, the Ketams are threatened by Halldór throwing out Andrea’s name. Kanon attempts to rally the alliance in order to save Andrea and to vote for Halldór. Although Paloma ends up flipping over, Romina stays Pasir strong, and Andrea Browne of Antigua and Barbuda is the tenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3 and the third member of the jury.!<

Episode 11 - >!Andrea’s elimination causes tensions among the Rumpai Girls Alliance, as Kanon and Paloma have their first fight. Kanon is exhausted from the fight and rests at camp. Meanwhile, Irada and Romina decide to bond together, and it works amazingly. Halldór wins reward, but it is Romina who wins a clutch immunity win. Kanon knows that she is definitely the next to go, as she is the last original Ketam remaining. She hatches a brilliant blindside idea and goes over to Irada and tries to convince her that she and Romina were planning to vote out Paloma. Meanwhile, she and the girls’ alliance attempt a Hail Mary and blindside Halldór. Kanon’s influence works, Irada votes for Paloma, and Halldór Sverrisson is the eleventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the fourth member of the jury.!<

Episode 12 - >!Kanon, after successfully preventing the eradication of Ketam and executing a blindside, decides to turn the tide in her favour and begins socialising with everyone else. She strengthens her bond with alliance member Romina and successfully reaches out to Melaku and bonds with him. She tries her best at the immunity challenge, but ultimately falls to Paloma, who ends up winning immunity instead. She tries to reach out to Paloma and Romina to try to vote out Irada for being the least aligned with her, but it’s too late. They’ve realised that Kanon’s impeccable social game has made her too dangerous to keep. They defect to the Pasirs, and Kanon Takamoto is the twelfth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the fifth member of the jury.!<

Finale

Part 1: >!The final Ketam player has finally been taken out, and the mega alliance of Pasir has withstood the test of time; they must now fight for themselves for once. Irada and Melaku, being the only ones outside of the alliance between Paloma and Romina, bond together over being at the bottom. They realise that they must take them out before they become too powerful. While it initially looked like either Paloma or Romina would win again, it is Melaku who comes out of nowhere and wins immunity! They know that both Paloma and Romina wouldn’t be willing to budge and would result in a deadlock. They decide to focus on Paloma, as they perceived her as the more dangerous one of the two. As they predicted, the vote results in a tie and a deadlock. Paloma’s past votes come back to haunt her, as the deadlock is resolved by previous votes. Paloma de Oliveira is the thirteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3 and the sixth member of the jury.!<

Part 2: >!Following Paloma’s elimination, Romina finds herself in the same position as Kanon and begins to socialise with both Melaku and Irada. She finds success with Irada and even bigger success with Melaku. However, she cannot bring herself to win the immunity challenge, as it is Melaku who ends up winning the final individual immunity. He now has to decide whether to take Irada or Romina to the finale. The choice for Melaku is easy, and Romina knows it. She knows that she’s made herself a huge target, and that Melaku would have a higher chance of winning against a goat like Irada than her. She chooses to accept her fate. Melaku frames this last vote as a vote of admiration and self-preservation, and Romina Castillo of Venezuela is the fourteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 3 and the final member of the jury.!<

Part 3: >!Two contestants, once again, remain in the camp: Melaku Atsede of Ethiopia and Irada Berdiyeva of Turkmenistan. The two celebrate going from possibly being screwed over at the final 5 to being the last two standing. Irada works extra hard, knowing she has little to no chance at beating Melaku. Melaku works on refining his speech to further cement his win alongside his amazing Survivor resume. As final tribal council arrives, they are put to the test. Melaku goes first and explains how he won over everyone, on Pasir and on the jury, through a combination of his hard work and his avoidance of camp drama. He also pitches that his work ethic and strategic elimination of the big targets allowed him to surge through and win the final 2 immunities. Irada goes next and pitches her underdog game and how she stayed afloat despite all the chaos that happened throughout the entire season. During the questioning, both candidates make a great show and answer the jury’s questions amazingly. Normally, it would be a hard decision, but the verdict couldn’t be any clearer. Finally, it was time to vote. Irada gains the votes of Halldór and Kanon, but everyone else votes for Melaku…and Melaku Atsede of Ethiopia is the third winner and the first ever African “Champion of the World”!!<

My Thoughts: >!Although the pre-merge showed promise with Dustin’s medevac and the chaos on both tribes was fun, it does fizzle down in the merge for me. I’m not trying to say it’s bad; it’s just not as fun as the other merges. Even though I do consider this season weaker than Seasons 1 and 2, I can appreciate that it’s not just a carbon copy of Season 1. There’s actual diversity in who wins the challenges, and there’s no comp beast that just steamrolls their way to the end. It’s also worth noting that there were eight contestants of Asian descent, and all six pre-mergers ended up being of Asian descent. Was not particularly happy with the rapid elimination of the Southeast Asians. Kanon’s game was also IMPECCABLE. The way she manages to seamlessly integrate into the tribe she was switched onto and avoids the radar entirely, then proceeds to pull off the biggest blindside of the season? I’m gonna call it now: she’s a legend in the making. Paloma and Romina’s challenge domination was also pretty interesting to watch. Despite my earlier claim that this season was the weakest, I actually think that Melaku is the strongest winner we’ve had so far.  It’s the perfect trilogy of physical (challenge wins toward the end), social (great work ethic garnering the praise of many), and strategic (founding the mega alliance and the Paloma and Romina elimination).!<

All-Star Potential Picks: >!Melaku, Romina, Paloma, Kanon, Halldór!<

But what do YOU think? Did >!Melaku!< deserve the win? Or did >!Irada!< deserve to snatch the title away from him? I’d love to read your opinions in the comments down below!

Aneta Nikolovska - North Macedonia

Assane Dieye - Senegal

Christina Tay - Singapore

Denise Dhanraj - Guyana

Gideon Teoh - Malaysia

Jósef Gislason - Iceland

Laisa Koroi - Fiji

Long Do - Vietnam

Luisa Barrios - Guatemala

Nancy Boulingui - Gabon

Parker Lesniak - Canada

Sienna van Wijngaarden - Netherlands

Tore Øynes - Norway

Tuuya Damdinsüren - Mongolia

Velimir Rubinić - Croatia

Yusuf Abdulahi - Somalia

Episode 1: >!Things do not start off on the right foot on Ralla as Velimir gets into arguments with Laisa and Tore. However, Laisa and Sienna find some common ground with one another. On Polowa, Aneta and Nancy leave a poor impression on one another. Jósef begins to impress the team. Assane and Christina also bond together. The first alliance of the season is formed on Polowa, comprised of Christina, Jósef, and Nancy. Polowa ends up winning the first immunity challenge, sending Ralla to tribal council. Despite Velimir’s fight, Tore’s aggressive campaigning turns off on the tribe, and Tore Øynes of Norway is the first person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2.!<

Episode 2: >!Velimir begins to cause more trouble on Ralla as he has a disagreement with Luisa, which causes him to have a breakdown. However, despite Velimir’s antics, an alliance comprised of Gideon, Laisa, and Sienna forms. Trouble on Polowa starts to brew as Jósef begins fighting with Aneta and Yusuf. Denise, choosing to keep the peace, decides to rest at camp instead. Ralla win their first challenge with the reward, but they ultimately lose immunity. The common consensus is that Velimir has to go, but the alliance has other plans. They want to assert their dominance over the tribe, so they set their eyes on Parker, someone they feel could be dangerous in the long run. Learning from Tore’s mistakes, they campaign subtly, and it pays off. Parker Lesniak of Canada is the second person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2.!<

Episode 3: >!Despite being saved, Velimir continues to cause chaos on the Ralla Tribe, this time going for Luisa. Sienna impresses the team, but she has a massive fight with Laisa. Fearing that their fight could potentially cause too large a rift, Gideon decides to jump ship from the alliance and leaves. Laisa and Sienna do not let it set them back. They approach Luisa, who is eager to join their alliance. On the Polowa Tribe, Long strengthens his bonds with both Jósef and Aneta. An even larger alliance forms comprising Assane, Christina, Jósef, Long, Nancy, and Yusuf. For the first time, Ralla wins immunity, sending Polowa to tribal council. The mega alliance decide whether to take out Aneta or Denise. They decide to go for Aneta, given her poor performance in the challenges. Aneta Nikolovska of North Macedonia is the third person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2.!<

Episode 4: >!For once, Velimir doesn’t start anything. Instead, Laisa and Luisa both have meltdowns. Luisa fears that her meltdown may have soured her reputation, so she leaves the alliance, leaving Laisa and Sienna together. On Polowa, Denise has a meltdown, realising she’s at the bottom. Cracks in the mega alliance begin to appear as Assane and Jósef, along with Nancy and Yusuf, get into fights. Nancy and Yusuf’s fight is particularly bad, as it prompts Yusuf to leave the alliance. Ralla manages to equalise and wins immunity again. The mega alliance decide to punish Yusuf for renegading rather than put Denise out of her misery, and Yusuf Abdulahi of Somalia is the fourth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2.!<

Episode 5: >!On the Ralla Tribe, it is Gideon in the spotlight as he bonds with former alliance member Laisa and forms a strong bond with Tuuya. From it, an alliance comprised of current and former members of the original Ralla Tribe and Tuuya forms. Velimir is notably absent from the lineup. On the Polowa Tribe, chaos erupts. Denise and Jósef get into a fight, kicking up Denise’s paranoia. She has another breakdown, thinking that she’s blown up her own game, and almost quits as a result. However, she may have been granted a lifesaver as Christina leaves the mega alliance. Ralla, in a Pagong-style comeback, smokes Polowa and wins immunity again. The mega alliance ultimately decides to zero in on Denise over Christina, given her antics before the immunity challenge. Denise Dhanraj of Guyana is the fifth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2.!<

Episode 6: >!As the merge approaches, things kick into high gear. Laisa has another meltdown. Luisa, seeing her breakdown, decides to also jump ship from the alliance. On the Polowa Tribe, Jósef once again impresses the team. Nancy and former alliance member Christina have a fight. Long sustains an injury, but it’s minor, and he is cleared to continue competing. A Pagong-like domination by Ralla is prevented by Polowa, and they win a clutch immunity win. Despite Luisa’s departure, the rest of the Ralla Tribe fear that Velimir’s prior antics will be their blind spot as a tribe. Velimir Rubinić of Croatia is the sixth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2.!<

Episode 7: >!The two teams finally merge into one tribe, Viyagraya, but the chaos does not stop. Laisa has another major meltdown and starts a fight with Tuuya, causing her to leave the Ralla Tribe alliance. However, she reconvenes with Gideon and Christina and Jósef of the Polowa Tribe, and creates the season’s first inter-tribal alliance. Christina wins the first individual immunity of the season! Sienna wants to go for Jósef, but Luisa has other plans. She wants to blindside Tuuya because her consistently strong performance during the tribal phase was viewed as threatening. Once Laisa and the Viyagraya Tribe alliance catch word, it spreads like wildfire, and Tuuya Damdinsüren of Mongolia is the seventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2.!<

Episode 8: >!Gideon and Laisa decide to make amends following a turbulent history with one another and bond. However, the Poowa mega alliance begins to crack even further as Assane and Nancy get into a fight. Sienna wins the reward, and decides to take her Ralla bestie Laisa with her, but Christina wins her second immunity in a row. Back at camp, targets fly everywhere. The Ralla alliances want Long out, the Polowa alliance wants Sienna out, and the Viyagara alliance wants Luisa out. It is a tight vote, but the Rallas succeed over the Polowas, and Long Do of Vietnam is the eighth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2 and the first member of the jury.!<

Episode 9: >!Chaos begins spewing at Viyagraya. Laisa and Luisa have their first fight, and Gideon fights with Jósef and Laisa. To rub salt in the wound, Jósef and Laisa both win reward, and Jósef ends up winning immunity. However, despite Gideon fighting with them, the tribe is more focused on taking out Christina, who is finally left vulnerable after losing the immunity challenge. Christina Tay of Singapore is the ninth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2 and the second member of the jury.!<

Episode 10: >!Things do not get any better with Gideon and his alliance, as he gets into more fights and disagreements with Jósef and Laisa. However, their constant fighting has worn both of them down, causing a minor disagreement between Jósef and Laisa. The contestants are given a rare opportunity to relax at the reward challenge, as the Clash of Bids commences. It’s a rare chance for the contestants to wind down and eat good food for once. They are even provided with some entertainment as Assane is tricked into buying a glass of auction water. The competition resumes, and Sienna, who has gone under fire the past two votes, wins immunity. The tribes clash once more. The Rallas want to take out Jósef for being too well-positioned, and the Polowas want Luisa out for their dislike of her. In the end, Gideon and Laisa decide to stay Ralla strong over their inter-tribal alliance, and Jósef Gislason of Iceland is the tenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2 and the third member of the jury.!<

Episode 11: >!With the former Rallas fully in control, Assane and Nancy find themselves at the bottom. It’s not helpful for them that, because of their past arguments, they decide to part their separate ways. Meanwhile, Sienna and Luisa, who did not interact much with one another prior to merging, finally get a chance to talk together and bond. Sienna wins both her second reward challenge and her second immunity challenge in a row. This time, the former Ralla Tribe have to decide whether to eliminate Assane or Nancy. They decide to put their votes on Assane, as they feared his sunny personality and ability to click with anyone would be viewed too favourably by the jury. Assane Dieye of Senegal is the eleventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2 and the fourth member of the jury.!<

Episode 12: >!With Assane gone, Nancy is truly at the bottom now. She’s the only Polowa left on a tribe infested with Ralla members. As Nancy is left by herself to slowly accept her demise, Laisa branches out with her bestie Sienna and extends an olive branch towards Luisa. Sienna sustains a minor injury, but is allowed to continue competing. Luisa wins reward this time. She wins an opportunity to chat with her loved ones via a video call, and gets to go on an online shopping spree to buy gifts for them. Not only does she win reward, but Luisa also secures immunity and swipes Nancy’s last chance of redemption from under her feet. Nancy puts her heart and soul into pitching for Sienna to leave, given her status as a challenge beast, but it falls on deaf ears. Nancy Boulingui of Gabon is the twelfth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2 and the fifth member of the jury.!<

Finale

Part 1: >!Finally, all of Polowa had been eradicated. Only Ralla remained on the Viyagraya beach. They have successfully taken out the competition, but now they must take themselves out. Gideon and Luisa form a slight bond, but get into a disagreement with Laisa, prompting another emotional breakdown. Sienna recuperates and wins both reward and immunity once more. For once, there is real tension as there is a split between the four. Gideon and Luisa want to separate the Laisa-Sienna duo; Laisa and Sienna want to take the deadweight Luisa out. Once they cast their votes, it ended up in a tie. They went to vote again…and it remained a deadlock. It all comes down to who got more previous votes prior to that night. Laisa had received no votes. Luisa had 4. With that, Luisa Barrios of Guatemala is the thirteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 2 and the sixth member of the jury.!<

Part 2: >!Three remaining contestants are left in the game, and things have begun to flare up. Although Gideon and Laisa fight, Sienna and Gideon begin to bond strongly. This causes a massive rift in the Laisa-Sienna duo, which sets off a major fight between the two. In the end, Sienna wins the clutch immunity and must decide whether to take Gideon or Laisa, two people she had been working with ever since the early days back at Rallas. Although she was much closer to Laisa than to Gideon, Laisa had been the one in the driver’s seat of their own bulldozer. As much as she wanted to go to the end with her, she knew she would have a better chance beating Gideon than beating Laisa. In a tear-filled final vote, Laisa Koroi of Fiji is the fourteenth and final member of the jury.!<

Final Tribal Council: >!Once again, two more castaways remained. Gideon Teoh of Malaysia and Sienna van Wijngaarden of the Netherlands. The two celebrate reaching the final stage of the game. Sienna is still heartbroken over having to vote out Laisa, but Gideon reassures her that it was ultimately necessary for her to get to where she was. The final tribal council finally approaches, and the two begin to plead their case. Sienna pleaded that her challenge prowess and her amazing social game deserved the prize money. She did amazingly with explaining to Laisa why she ended up cutting her at the final 3, but she ended up fumbling the rest of the jury’s questions. However, Gideon was an absolute masterclass, explaining how his “cockroach” strategy–surviving until the end despite fumbling his social game–combined with his ability to exploit cracks within both the members of Polowa and his own tribe, allowed him to reach this far into the game. He answered each jury question flawlessly as the pendulum began to sway in his favour. Finally, it was time to vote. Laisa remained loyal to Sienna, and Jósef admired her social game, but the rest of the jury was successfully swayed, and Gideon Teoh of Malaysia was crowned the second-ever “Champion of the World” and the winner of the game.!<

My thoughts on the season: >!Although this easily pales in comparison to CoW 1, this was still an enjoyable season. Velimir’s antics during the pre-merge were such a fun task to write! We also saw the first-ever Pagonging, as Polowa was completely wiped out by the remaining four Rolla members. Seeing the downfall of the Polowa mega alliance was soooo satisfying to watch. Laisa and Sienna’s duo was absolutely adorable, until…yeah. Gideon’s win was definitely a surprise for me. As soon as he started fighting with everyone, I was sure he was going to be cut in Luisa’s place, but I suppose it was still quite deserved. His (and Laisa’s) decision to abandon his alliance with Jósef ended up being what gave him the win. There’s definitely a lot of parallels to the previous season (strong duo is broken up at final 3, challenge beast loses to social player), and the two winners definitely played similar games, but I think that Himali’s winning game was much better than Gideon’s. Sorry, but you can’t outdo the doer!!<

All-Star Potential Picks: >!Gideon, Sienna, Laisa, Jósef, Velimir if I’m feeling silly!<

But what do YOU think? Did >!Gideon!< deserve the win? Or was >!Sienna!< or even >!Laisa!< more deserving of that title? I’d love to read your opinions in the comments down below!

[S] Clash of Worlds 1: Borneo

Sixteen people from all over the world have chosen to embark on a life-changing adventure for $1,000,000 in their respective currencies. Here are the people who answered the call…

Bruno Namkoisse - Central African Republic

Claudia Liuzzi - Italy

Emilia Lagerlöf - Sweden

Fabio Michelotti - San Marino

Gerardo Gimenez - Argentina

Himali Kannangara - Sri Lanka

Jarosław Sienicki - Poland

Jennifer Newell - Jamaica

Karolina Nakrošytė - Lithuania

Lucas Caillet - France

Majed Yousif - Bahrain

Orla O’Flanagan - Ireland

Steven Agyekum - Ghana

Toni Westhoff - USA

Ulisses Medeiros - Portugal

Yvette Prevost - Dominica

Episode 1: >!Chaos immediately breaks out on Pagong as Emilia and Lucas frequently clash with one another, while Karolina sits back. She, Lucas, and Orla form an alliance, threatening Emilia’s stay in the game. On Tagi, things are more peaceful. Although Majed clearly underestimated how taxing Survivor could be and is not coping well, Toni is the complete opposite; she and Steven bond strongly, and she stumbles into an alliance with Himali, Jarosław, Jennifer, and herself. Tagi wins the first immunity, meaning Pagong will be going to tribal council. Lucas influences his alliance to vote Emilia out, but Gerardo’s name also gains momentum. At Pagong’s first tribal council, the result is a 4-4 tie. Yvette, hoping to avoid a deadlock, flips, and Emilia Lagerlöf of Sweden is the first person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1.!<

Episode 2: >!Pagong just cannot seem to catch a break. Lucas impresses the team, and Yvette and Karolina bond together after the former also has trouble coping with the elements. On Tagi, Himali and Jarosław impress their team, and Claudia, Fabio, Himali, and Toni get into an alliance, further insulating Toni. Although Pagong wins reward, Tagi sends Pagong back to tribal council by winning immunity. Bruce, Gerardo, Lucas, Orla, and Ulisses band together and plan to blindside Karolina, but Gerardo throws a wrench in the plans as he gets violently ill, and Gerardo Gimenez of Argentina is medically evacuated, becoming the second person eliminated from Clash of Words 1. Karolina barely escapes elimination…for now.!<

Episode 3: >!On Pagong, things are finally calm. Yvette and Orla bond strongly, but Ulisses, feeling like the alliance to blindside Karolina is akin to a sinking ship, decides to dip. On Tagi, nothing much happens, but Fabio is getting on people’s good graces. Finally, Pagong wins immunity for once, and Tagi is headed to tribal council. It is clear that Majed is struggling with camp life, so everyone plans to vote him out. This does not go over well with him, so he tries to aggressively campaign to vote Steven out. It’s all for nothing, and Majed Yousif of Bahrain is the third person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1.!<

Episode 4: >!Chaos just seems to be a normal occurrence on the Pagong Tribe. Karolina and Yvette have a small fight, but it causes a rift between the two, and Bruno has a meltdown. On the Tagi Tribe, it’s a mixed bag. Toni continues to bond with the people on her tribe as she gets close with Claudia. Meanwhile, Himali decides to leave her alliance with Jarosław, Jennifer, and Toni. At the immunity challenge, Pagong levels the playing field and wins immunity again, sending Tagi back to tribal council. Steven, albeit was good at challenges, was very isolated from the rest of the cast and became an easy target. He tried his best to shift the target off of his back, but it was too little too late. Steven Agyekum of Ghana is the fourth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1.!<

Episode 5: >!On Pagong, Yvette causes some chaos and gets into disagreements with Orla and Bruno. Bruno is fed up with Orla and Lucas constantly scheming without him. He leaves the alliance, leaving Lucas and Orla together. Karolina and Ulisses bond together, and it hits Ulisses deeply. Maybe blindsiding Karolina would’ve been the wrong decision…On the Tagi Tribe, Jennifer leaves a great impression on everyone as she continues to impress everyone. Toni makes her first social blunder, as she and Fabio have a small disagreement. Pagong prove that they are a different tribe after losing two people as they pull off their third immunity win in a row. On Tagi, a civil war breaks out. Jarosław and Jennifer want Fabio out. Claudia, Fabio, and Himali want Jarosław out. Toni is well aligned with people on both sides, leaving her as a swing vote. In the end, she goes with the majority, and Jarosław Sienicki of Poland is the fifth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1.!<

Episode 6: >!Despite being safe for consecutive rounds, the fractures on Pagong couldn’t be any clearer. Once again, Yvette clashes with Orla. She also clashes with Karolina again. As if things weren’t bad enough, she also ends up clashing with Bruno. Not even Tagi is safe from all the chaos. Fabio fights with Jennifer and Toni, but he quickly makes up with her. Pagong ends up decimating the Tagi tribe as they win their fourth immunity win. As the final member of the first Tagi alliance, Jennifer finds herself at the bottom of the tribe. Seeing that Toni did not vote with them, she has no choice but to accept her fate. Jennifer Newell of Jamaica is the sixth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1.!<

Episode 7: >!Pagong and Rattana finally merge into Rattana. Claudia and Orla are the first inter-tribal interaction as they form a bond together. Karolina and Yvette have another disagreement. Lucas wins the first-ever individual immunity. Yvette’s penchant for picking fights does not go unnoticed by both the members of Pagong and Tagi. It’s clear what needs to be done in order to bring order. Yvette Prevost of Dominica is the seventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1.!<

Episode 8: >!Himali continuously impresses the newly-formed Rattana Tribe. Meanwhile, Lucas and Orla strengthen their already strong bond. The first inter-tribe alliance forms, and it is comprised of Fabio, Karolina, and Ulisses. Lucas wins an opportunity to watch a video from home and to send one back to his loved ones. During the immunity challenge, Ulisses dominates and wins immunity for himself. As tribal council looms, Bruno’s reputation for also blowing up on Pagong finally gets exposed and catches flak for it at tribal council. Bruno Namkoisse of the Central African Republic is the eighth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the first member of the jury.!<

Episode 9: >!Chaos begins to erupt once more on the Rattana Tribe as the Lucas-Orla duo stirs drama at camp by picking fights at camp with Fabio and Karolina. To rub salt in the wound, Orla wins a barbecue feast and decides to bring Lucas along. However, it is Toni who ends up winning immunity. Targets begin flying everywhere on Rattana. Lucas and Orla set their sights on Fabio; the Tagi Alliance wants to go for Karolina, while the Rattana alliance want to try to weaken Lucas by going for Orla. At tribal council, it is the Tagis that are victorious, and Karolina Nakrošytė of Lithuania is the ninth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the second member of the jury.!<

Episode 10: >!A more cheerful contrast from the last episode, Fabio and Himali find something in common, which sparks some chemistry between the two. Claudia, Himali, and Orla band together to form another inter-tribal alliance. The Lucas-Orla duo dominate this episode, with Orla winning a second reward and Lucas winning immunity again. The Lucas-Orla set their sights again on Fabio, the Tagi Alliance wants to go for Ulisses next, and Fabio and Ulisses still want to try and take a shot at Orla. The Tagis once again triumph, and Ulisses Medeiros of Portugal is the tenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the third member of the jury.!<

Episode 11: >!Himali continues to impress the Rattana tribe, while Lucas’ dominance is also garnering some praise. Orla is exhausted after working hard at camp and tires herself out. However, the peace is shattered when Fabio and Himali have a falling out. This prompts Himali to defect from the Tagi alliance. Orla wins a third consecutive reward, a night spent on a yacht with Lucas, and Toni wins immunity again. The Tagi alliance sees a rare opportunity to take Lucas out, but with Himali gone, Lucas and Orla persuade her to vote with them. Toni going rogue at tribal council and choosing to vote for Himali for her disloyalty to the alliance proves to be a fatal mistake, and Fabio Michelotti of San Marino is the eleventh person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the fourth member of the jury. The Pagonging of the Pagong Tribe has been prevented.!<

Episode 12: >!Himali and Orla have a minor disagreement, but they make up quickly. Claudia, realising that Himali has fully renegaded over to Lucas and Orla’s side, stops working with Himali and Orla. Once again, Orla wins a fourth consecutive (!!!) reward, but this time, she also wins immunity for herself and cements herself as the season’s challenge beast. Lucas and Orla realise how Toni is well-connected with everyone on the Tagi Tribe. Seeing how quickly the Tagi members are filling up the jury spot, they feel threatened and want to go after her. Claudia and Toni try one last Hail Mary to go after Himali for her disloyalty. At tribal council, however, Himali solidifies her allegiance to Lucas and Orla, and Toni Westhoff of the United States is the twelfth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the fifth member of the jury.!<

Finale

Part 1: >!Once again, Himali continues to impress the tribe, and even bonds with Lucas. Claudia, undoubtedly on the bottom, begins to scramble to save her behind. She tries to bond with Orla, and it actually works. The two find something in common with one another. Claudia knows that she needs to win the immunity challenge to break up Lucas and Orla. But alas, it is Orla who ultimately ends up winning. Now realising that she is truly screwed, she tries to pitch to Himali that Lucas and Orla are too strong to keep together, and now is the last chance to break them apart. Her pitch falls on deaf ears, and Claudia Liuzzi of Italy is the thirteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the sixth member of the jury.!<

Part 2: >!Back on the beach, Himali ponders on Claudia’s words, and she begins to realise that she has made a grave mistake. Lucas and Orla are an insanely tight duo, and it will take a miracle to break them apart. It’s already hard enough as Lucas continues to impress them both. Himali takes Orla aside and has a rare bonding moment with her. Himali begins to float the idea that she was a goat and that by taking her, she’d have an easier time beating her than Lucas. Orla thought it was a preposterous idea at first, but the more she entertained that idea, the more she was tempted…Orla won the final immunity challenge and had to choose between Himali and Lucas. Lucas didn’t even try to pitch to Orla. He knew that she was taking him. At least, that’s what he thought. Everyone is blindsided at tribal council when Lucas Caillet of France is the fourteenth person voted out of Clash of Worlds 1 and the final member of the jury.!<

Final Tribal Council: >!Two girls remained on Rattana Beach. Himali Kannangara and Orla O’Flanagan. The girls celebrate, as soon, one of them would be crowned the Champion of the World in just a few hours. Soon, the grand finale arrives. Final Tribal Council. Orla’s main talking point was her amazing challenge performance, winning a whopping seven challenges. She also highlighted her tight bond with Lucas and how they controlled the late merge phase. Himali’s main talking point was her social charm and her strategic prowess. She talked about how flipping to Lucas and Orla ultimately saved her game and what allowed her to enact revenge and break the duo up. With that, it was time to vote. Claudia didn’t want to vote for a snake and voted for Orla; despite the betrayal, Lucas still wanted Orla to win; Monika was more impressed by Orla’s challenge abilities. However, the rest of the jury were swayed by Himali’s charm. In the end…Himali Kannangara of Sri Lanka is crowned the “Champion of the World” and the winner of Clash of Worlds 1.!<

My thoughts on the season: >!WOW. What an amazing season this was. I loved how much of a mess Pagong was, especially compared to the (usually) calm Tagi. I think the most interesting part of this was the constant fluctuation of power between the two tribes. From Tagi to Pagong to Tagi again to Pagong again to Tagi AGAIN again. This was one of the most entertaining merges I’ve ever read in a Brantsteele, ever. The way it went from the Pagong tribe getting Pagonged, then Lucas and Orla somehow flipping the script and Pagonging the Tagi tribe. These two were such a power couple; the way they went from the minority to the majority at the final three. However, to say Himali’s social game was amazing would be an understatement. She constantly stayed in good graces with the members of Pagong and Rattana by impressing them. Although she ended up betraying her Tagi alliance, she still managed to also avenge them by convincing Orla to vote Lucas out instead. Definitely a very deserved win in my opinion. It’s going to be hard to beat this winning game…but this is only the first season of Clash of Worlds, so who knows what’s going to happen? 😉!<

All-Star Potential Picks: >!Fabio, Himali, Lucas, Orla, Toni!<

But what do YOU think? Did >!Himali!< deserve the win? Or were >!Lucas and Orla!< the more deserving final 2? I’d love to read your opinions in the comments down below!

[S] Clash of Worlds 1 Signups

Hi, all!

It's me again with another Survivor series (Survivor ADE 3.0 is not dead yet)! For this new series, instead of claiming characters or Pokémon, you'll be claiming countries instead.

The concept of Clash of Worlds is an international competition where different people from different countries compete in a Survivor competition, and one person will win the title of "Champion of the World" along with 1 million USD in their country's respective currency. It's essentially Survivor with a few elements of the Eurovision Song Contest.

As I said earlier, you'll be claiming countries instead of characters. No need to give your character a name/gender orientation. Just comment the name of your chosen country and it's yours. This random country generator will be right here if you can't think of it. You can claim a maximum of two countries.

As for stats, you can either leave it up to chance, highlight one or two skills you want your character to have, or you can fully customise it yourself (I will not be accepting any characters with all 5 stats); I don't really care.

Keeping in mind the possibility of two users claiming the same country, it is recommended to comment at least 1-3 backup countries in case someone might claim a country before you.

Here is a standard template on how you can claim (I'll provide an example comment, don't worry):

Country 1
Country 2
Backup Countries:
Backup Country 1
Backup Country 2

Good luck and happy claiming!

COUNTRIES CLAIMED (16/16)
Argentina
Bahrain
Central African Republic
Dominica
France
Ghana
Ireland
Italy
Jamaica
Lithuania
Poland
Portugal
San Marino
Sri Lanka
Sweden
United States

Hey, everyone! It's been almost a week since signups opened, and we still have a lot of open slots left! To anyone who's always wondered how their "ideal Survivor contestant" would actually play in Survivor, this one's for you (maybe also a reminder to anyone who's gotten work done on their applications but just forgot to submit it)!

Just a refresher of what this season is going to look like:

  • ONE FRANCHISE: In a similar fashion to Big BrotherMon, this season will only be accepting Pokémon.
  • ALTERNATE UNIVERSE: However, this series takes place in the real world, where Pokémon have replaced us! The locations they're from will be provided by me, but if you want to override it, you can always do that (this isn't mandatory!)
  • CHOSEN STATS: Unlike the original Survivor ADE franchise, all stats will be chosen by you when you fill out your form.
  • WRITEUPS: Writeups will return for Survivor ADE, but they won't be as in-depth as Big BrotherMon.
  • DOUBLE ENTRIES: Each user can submit two characters, regardless of gender orientation!
  • In spite of the rule above, I have decided to submit a third character due to the massive amount of signup slots still open. Should there still not be enough signups by three days, I will open third submissions to everyone.

Here is where you submit your cast member.

CAST APPLICATIONS ARE STILL OPEN! Do keep in mind that characters that competed in Survivor ADE: Ireland are not eligible to compete in Survivor ADE: Mongolia.

Female Slots - 2 open

Male Slots - 3 open

Surprise, surprise, u/Existing-Ad-9590 is rebooting Survivor ADE AGAIN.

As much as I didn't want to admit it, I burnt out HARD on writing Survivor ADE: Ireland. While I ended up getting a massive surge in recontinuing the episode, the hype for this has long passed, and I no longer see the need to continue it.

If anyone wants, here is the link to the season, and here is the link to the full write-up.

I realised that perhaps I put too much effort into writing due to all the twists of the new era, so for the third(!) iteration of Survivor ADE, we'll be going back to basics. I'm gonna start off with a Borneo simulation, and we'll eventually work our way to the new era! Hopefully, with literally no twists and a smaller cast, I can actually release at least one episode...maybe even complete the season? We'll see.

Our inaugural season will be filmed in Mongolia!

Here is where you submit your cast.

CAST APPLICATIONS ARE STILL OPEN! Do keep in mind that characters that competed in Survivor ADE: Ireland are not eligible to compete in Survivor ADE: Mongolia.

Male Slots - 2/8
