new grad with a non bme job offer

hi!! basically as the title says: i recently graduated with my bachelors in BME. i’ve been looking and applying for jobs since early in my senior year with little luck. just recently i got an offer for a project coordinator at a CRO focusing on drug delivery and medical device research. it’s not engineering at all (mostly quality control of study data), and im kind of not sure what to do. on one hand, a job is a job and ive waited months since my last offer for something to come up. but on the other, i’m worried this will pigeonhole me into a career in medical writing when i still want to explore engineering some more. does anyone happen to have insight/any advice for a new grad? this job market is tough, and im scared if i turn it down i wont be able to get another offer any time soon.

any help or advice is appreciated :3!! thanks in advance, and good luck to everyone who’s applying, hoping for the best 🙇

entry level project coordinator at a CRO - what to expect?

hi!! i just recently graduated with a bachelors in biomedical engineering. i’ve been looking for work for a bit and just recently got offered a project coordinator role (seems like a lot of data management/QC) in a contract research org based in the greater boston area, with a starting wage of 25/hr. I was wondering if anyone had any insight about if that’s reasonable or not?

i also know it’s not an engineering role, which ive had trouble finding, but is there room for growth into a more lab/r&d based role in the future from here? i’m still super interested in working on drug delivery systems at some pt (which is what this company does testing for, i just wont be working on them personally). or will it mostly be medical writing from here? i’ve been reading people’s horror stories about working for CROs and i’m wondering if it’s still worth it/if it can be used as a stepping stone into something more biotech/pharma related.

thanks in advance :3 i’m still really trying to figure out my career so any advice/insight is always appreciated!!
