Last few casts off a local dock

Threw a random jig head with a half piece of a senko on it. Biggest fish in a long time after just picking it back up with my son.

1977 home, adding a softner

A potential home we're looking to buy was built in 1977, with copper pipes, and I'm assuming all leaded joints. The home has never had a softner. Pressure seemed good from the fixtures I ran. The city water is pretty hard at 17 GPG.

I'm wondering if we should add a softner? Are we going to risk leaks? Will the lead solder start leeching eventually? Is it minimal? Are we better off replacing all the plumbing and adding a softner?

Or should we just run it as it is and be fine with shorter appliance life?
