Hello from Nepal
Hey everyone — wanted to share something I’ve been building over the past year. A little about me- graduated from Baruch in 2021 with a BA in maths.
I started a Nepal-based travel company called Yarn Travels [www.yarntravels.com\]
We’re trying to do travel a little differently.
Yarn is built around the idea that travel should be:
thoughtful,
equitable,
culturally grounded,
and genuinely beneficial to both guests and host communities.
Right now, we primarily work on:
institutional and NGO travel,
retreats and team offsites,
research and learning journeys,
high-context travel planning,
and custom Nepal experiences for people looking for something more meaningful than standard tourism.
One thing we care deeply about is duty of care — especially for travelers navigating visas, unfamiliar regions, accessibility concerns, or complex logistics. A lot of our process actually starts with research and understanding the people before we even suggest destinations.
We’re also exploring some exciting directions around:
Himalayan remote-work retreats,
wellness and creative residencies,
feminist and inclusion-aware travel,
and building Nepal as a destination for intentional, high-value tourism.
The name “Yarn” comes from storytelling and interconnectedness — the idea that travel is really about people, relationships, and shared experiences.
Would genuinely appreciate:
feedback,
introductions,
ideas,
partnerships,
or even just alumni advice from people building things of their own.
