Non-Police Personnel Vetting denied, may lose dream job over it
Hi all,
I’ve been denied Non‑Police Personnel Vetting, which is mandatory for a dream role I was offered.
I’ve been refused vetting, and I’m not allowed to know the reason. As far as I’m aware, both myself and my immediate family are completely law‑abiding. My worry is that the decision might be based on something unrelated to me — possibly involving extended family I haven’t had contact with for over two decades.
I can appeal, but without knowing what I’m appealing against, it feels like an uphill battle I’m unlikely to win.
Right now I’m stressed, confused, and honestly pretty upset. Is there anything I can do here?
Any legal advice or support I could look into? I'm from the UK.
