Am I wrong?

I am in a district that follows the 3:1 model so iep minutes are written monthly. Our school has a life skills program and the teacher is requesting that service providers see these students on our indirect week even though all of their minutes are met. She is saying that the paras need breaks during the students therapies. I feel like admin is not supporting the service providers and is writing off some of the indirect tasks we need to do to effectively do our jobs.

Am I right to push back against this or am I being difficult?

Really struggling with push-in/inclusive model

The elementary school that I work at has moved to an inclusive model where all service providers are supposed to push in and embed their services into the curriculum to support all students. I am really struggling with pushing in to meet all of my IEP students needs. For example during an ELA lesson today, the teacher was reading a book aloud while the students read along. Occasionally the teacher would stop and ask a question but there was never any time for discussion, just ask and answer. I sat with one student and helped them stay focused and re stated the ideas they were supposed to be writing down. I also kept a story grammar chart for the student to refer to next time as they will continue reading the same book.

I feel like I am not being effective for students and that I am just sitting around. Does anyone who primarily pushes in or follows the inclusive model have any tips or suggestions on how to better serve students and help with meeting their goals in the classroom?

Thanks in advance!

Out Of State Canvassers for Susan Collins

Just had a man with Massachusetts license plates pull into my driveway behind me. It was very unsettling as I live in a rural area. Turns out it was a volunteer for the Collins campaign. I told him no one here was interested in supporting her and wanted to be taken off of their list. He was polite and left without much push back

Has this happened to anyone else? Is it common to have out of state people come to help support another states politician?

UFT: one balcony ticket to Boston N3 for positions and sweetener vinyls

Hi all!

I have one balcony ticket for tonight’s show. I just left the pop up and they were out of the sweetener and positions vinyls, the last two I need to complete my collection. Please comment or message me if you would be up to trade the two vinyls for the ticket!
