Hey y’all! I’m a dual citizenship holder, but my wife currently only holds US citizenship. Her father is a Mexican citizen and she wants to apply for dual citizenship with the Mexican consulate. She hyphenated her name after we got married and now we are wondering if this will pose a problem when she applies for her Mexican birth certificate?

Her name on her US passport & drivers’ license goes like this: “First name, Middle name, Last name - Married name”. But on her US birth certificate the married name does not show (of course).

Would anyone have some kind of guidance about this? We don’t want to have to go to the consulate 5 hrs away just to be denied because of this…
