Elves in high gothic armor
A few months ago I thought about the shapes of high gothic armors and realised it was a pretty good fit for low fantasy elves (even architectural gothic would fit when you look at flamboyant gothic), since it's close to the body and gives a thin, elegant, slender silhouette that is quite characteristic of elves. Would also reflect their tastes in detailing with precise craftsmanship. We could even imagine their long hairs flowing from their pointy sallet, a characteristic that would be harder to represent with an armet for example.
I thought it would fit so good I since think about composing a hitoricaly accurate high gothic armor for myself, that I could use for History reenactment on one hand, but that I could also easily use as a base for a low fantasy elf cosplay on the other hand, with some little elvish-y changes like flowing clothings and stuff, IDK. It's a VERY long term project since it would take time, maybe decades for me to have the money for that, but hey, at least the idea is here!
What's your opinion ? Do you think high gothic armors would fit to low fantasy elves ? Have you ever seen this parallel before ?
