LAYOVER Questions!
My wife and I are from Hawaii, USA. We are traveling to Indonesia but our flight has a layover in Auckland we arrive to Auckland on the 16th at 5pm but our flight out is the next morning at 11am. Roughly an 18 hour layover, so too long for us to stay inside of the international terminal comfortably.
My questions are, is there any airport hotels inside the international terminal?
If not and we have to go to an airport hotel right outside of the airport, my understanding is as US citizens we have the visa waived but still need NZeTA. But when I go to apply for it, it’s adding on an IVL? Is the IVL avoidable? I understand an IVL purpose, but it makes no sense if we aren’t participating in regular tourism, we just want a room to sleep in for the night.
