Got scammed by a fake tipster site pretending to be a legit one - posting so others don’t fall for it

So yeah, I’m writing this partly to vent and partly to warn anyone who’s into sports betting and tipsters. For the last few weeks I kept seeing the name Megalodon Tips pop up everywhere - Quora answers, betting forums, even some Reddit threads. People were talking about them like they were some well-known, solid tipster organization with a good track record. A lot have “been with them for months”, “consistent profits”, that kind of stuff. Eventually I thought, screw it, I’ll give them a try. I googled Megalodon Tips, clicked one of the top results, and everything looked fine. Clean and simple website, easy navigation. Nothing immediately screamed scam. I made an account and paid for what they called “Premium” $199. Payment went through, I got a confirmation email… and then nothing. No Telegram invite. No Discord link. No follow-up email. No instructions. Just silence. At first I thought, okay, maybe it takes a few hours. Then a full day passed. Then two days. Still nothing. I emailed their support - no reply. I even tried their affiliate form, no reply. At this point I already had that sinking feeling in my stomach. So I decided to do more google research, and that’s when l realized the bad news. Turns out I have opened a fake copycat website using the same name “Megalodon”, specifically to mislead people who are searching for the real Megalodon Tips, which actually has a decent reputation. Same name, similar wording, but different branding. Here’s the important part for anyone reading this: The real Megalodon Tips uses a BLUE shark logo Their real website has daily tips and VIP Tickets The SCAM site uses a RED shark logo The scam even has a gumroad shop but it’s all fake and never delivers anything and has some stupid text about world of fishes on that primitive red website. The legit Megalodon Tips is from 2018 and their website has a lot of information, details, track record of weekly parlays and much more. Guess which one I paid for. Yep. The real Megalodon Tips guys which even have a live chat on their website told me straight up that I was scammed and that they’ve had multiple people message them with the exact same story. Apparently this copycat site with the red logo has been around for a bit and keeps catching people who don’t know the difference. I immediately contacted my bank and filed a chargeback, explained the situation, and sent all the screenshots. Right now I’m waiting and hoping the bank sides with me and I get my money back. Honestly, what annoys me the most is that I didn’t do enough research. Everything looked simple enough that I didn’t question it until it was too late. So yeah, posting this so hopefully someone else sees it before making the same mistake I did. If you’re looking into Megalodon Tips, double-check the logo and the websites. Hopefully this saves at least one person a headache. Stay safe out there.
