TBMA aka long form with 0 areoles

This was actually the first cactus I got, that was last year November and I was thinking this thing has 0 areoles or spines so how is it going to pup, ever? Can they pup from the tip? So I started searching through the sub for a while and read of people who were trying to figure the same thing out but there were only theories about how they could have areoles underneath their skin, I only read that today and didn't notice how in the 2nd picture, taken in March, is that something poking out from underneath the skin close to the base on the left?? 1st photo was taken earlier today and when I checked, the skin looks like it's cracking and maybe like something pointy might be coming through soon. Let's keep our fingers crossed!!

I received these three 10 cm cuttings in the mail today, it was supposed to be 1 Macrogonus and 2 Bridgesii but they weren't labelled. Do I just say the two that look similar (7 ribs on the right) must be the Bridgesii and the one on the right (6 ribs) must be the Macrogonus, does that seem right? Does that one even look Macrogonus, it's the first one I got so I haven't got the slightest...
