I’m in HVAC with 3 trucks around San Antonio. I run ops mostly solo but my superstar wife still helps me with bookkeeping at night outside of her day job.

I’ve been putting off hiring someone for admin and dispatch because margins haven’t been the best this year, but we’re getting wiped handling everything ourselves

I thought chatGPT could help, but I still have to build everything it comes up with myself. I'm hesitant to spend a bunch of time trying to build things only for it to not work.

Should I just pull the trigger and hire someone? How did you get a newbie set up with what they needed to be useful in the first month? Tips from anyone running a services business would be helpful.
