I have finally managed to get myself a job, Down side its at night.
“Why did I take nights man. All I want to be doing right now is sleeping not cleaning up this dumb grocery store.” I thought.
As sweat continued to pour out of every inch like it was poison to my insides and needed to leave.
“You got to be careful these days, been lots of cases of missing people these days especially at night, my neighbour just had their daughter stolen right in their front lawn. Thats why you need at-home security,” The radio presenter hollered over the loudspeaker.
They weren’t wrong evers since I could remeber seemed to be dropping like flies, if the cops weren’t understaffed and the inspiration for dumb and dumber people would take things more seriously. Often times it was people kids who walked to the next town over or was playing hide and seek but some people just never came back.
Most people just assumed that a serial killer was passing through our town but just like any small town people blame the aliens that never visit to their neighbours. I tried to drown out the noise with a podcast or music, but both the loudspeaker and the headphones make it really hard to concentrate.
It was raining outside, but it always rained after extreme heat waves the day before. The pitter-patter sounds on the windows didn't help my already increasing desire to sleep. I continued to buff the rest of the store, making sure to go down every aisle at least four times. “Tap Tap Tap.” I turn around to investigate what the source of this sound is. Nothing. “Weird” I say to myself going back to the section I was doing.
“Ahhhhhh” a faint scream is coming from outside. I look up peering through the windows into pitch black but nothing again. “I should really go sober or sleep more I think I’m losing my mind.
“Ahhhhhhh” this time louder and more high-pitched sounding like pigs squealing and nails on chalkboards.
I look up again, but this time a woman in all white, no hair, no eyebrows, eyes bleeding a disgusting pinkish red that ran down her face. Her pale white face made it look like she was made out of plastic. Her nose looked like someone had removed the front part of her nose so that it was just a line between two large holes in her face, as though someone had removed it for her. Her mouth was smooth over like she was never born or had never had one to begin with but she still had a jaw to move.
“AHHHHHH” this time like a blood-curdling, high-pitched squeal that would burst someones ear drums if they stood too close.
“Tink.” As the line splits through the glass. The creature now pressed against the window as if it was trying to break it with its own body “
Tink, Tink, Smash.”
The window casing smashing into little tiny pieces, scattering across the floor in front of me. I let out a scream and groan. “I still have to clean that area up man.” I let out, sounding more defeated than terrified, which very quickly reversed after the creature started walking towards me. “Woah woah woah hey lady I don’t care about the glass I’m just the janitor” I yelp. The creature keeps walking towards me slowly as if she is delighting in my fear.
“Yo back it up lady I’m warning you.” I say as I grab a roll of toilet paper cocking my arm back ready to throw at her. She keeps walking towards me smiling with her eyes and her eyes start shooting out with the pinkish red goop again that hugs her cheeks this time streaming even more rapidly. I fall over in my panic and start frantically moving across the floor as fast as my feet and hands will let me move. I keep going until I feel something thud against my back.
“Gosh you’re getting really good little one maybe you can take his nose to help complete the rest of your face” A voice boomed behind me. The girl jumped for joy, clapping her hands together making a terrible screeching sound.
As I sit there in a state of shock, I feel a face drop down onto my shoulder. “You really should be more careful about the kind of jobs you accept, sometimes they’re really just are just a RAT TRAP!
