I was backing out of a parking spot that I thought I had cleared for and hit a Tesla square in it’s headlight and bumper, my Tacoma suffered no damages. I feel like and idiot. Nothing was totaled, no cops were called, and the dude said he would try and find a body shop and I could pay out of pocket. However, if he doesn’t, we will have to go through insurance and It will most likely raise my parents rates (I am 18). I don’t want my parents to be financially burdened by me and I would hate to see their insurance rates go up, so if I go a separate route, where do I begin in finding my own insurance? Thanks.
