Is it normal to ask for payment to take care of Grandchilderen?
So, the question is simple really. I just want to gauge what people's takes are on this as I've had an overwhelming amount of people say it is bizzare and wrong.
Context: my mom has 3 children other than myself who are all under the age of 12. She is in a tough spot in her life right now and has asked my grandparents to take care of the 3 children while she works (I don't live with them and my work schedule conflicts with hers).
Grandma offered to take care of the children but for payment. I've never asked for payment to take care of my siblings, should I? My Grandma never asked for payment from my aunt when taking care of her children daily, so I wonder why there is a difference?
TLDR: Should a grandparents ask/expect payment for taking care of their grandchildren max 2 days a week for around 5 hours each time?
