Need help understanding gamescope

so my goal is to have games render at a resolution just under 720p but have gamescope or fsr upscale it to 1600x900,but most steam games simply crash when I try to use launch options or scope buddy to do this. With the majority of games this isn't necessary but on the odd "poorly optimized" or "unreal engine" game I'd like to be able to manually configure gamescope settings and choose my fsr in and out of game mode.

If I leave it as is,no input from built-in mic.If I change the mic profile to anything it gets rid of the speakers. But when I change it in sound recorder it's blown out even when I turn the volume down (Like it's listening to a messed up input because i think it's essentially "recording" with the speakers like a set of headphones plugged into input)

I'm dual booting Windows and bazzite, but use Windows only for like 3 applications and neutered it's Internet access. So I'm using Gemini to help make shortcuts that auto boot into Windows and launch that app. The way Gemini recommended doing this is the following. In bazzite make a shortcut that creates a .txt file (like "launch Photoshop.txt") in my c:/temp folder and then sends the grub command to reboot into Windows. On the windows side, make a auto launch bat file that checks for these .txt files, and if it finds it, launch program and delete temp file. Is this a good route to do this?
