How can I pay a taxi fare after a payment failure in Tokyo?
Hi everyone,
I'm a tourist currently visiting Tokyo and recently had an issue paying for a taxi ride in the Ginza area.
I took a taxi today around 7:20 pm from a hotel to a nearby restaurant. When we arrived, my credit card unexpectedly failed, and I didn't have enough cash with me. Due to the language barrier, I wasn't able to explain the situation clearly or arrange a way to pay later.
The driver eventually allowed us to leave without collecting the fare, which was a little over ¥1,000.
I would like to settle the fare properly and am looking for advice on the correct way to do this. Unfortunately, I don't have a receipt and don't know the taxi company's name.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or does anyone know which organization, taxi association, or local authority I should contact to try to locate the taxi company and make payment?
