Leg pain? Possible sciatica?
The issue: currently have difficulty walking and sleeping due to pain in both my legs. The pain is on the posterior side, more in the right leg than left. It goes in a “line” down the back of my thighs to my ankle. I’m wondering if I have bilateral siatica, or if it’s something else.
Of note, I was in FL last week, and walked an average of 11k steps a day. Four out of 7 of the days I hit 24k steps, and 7 miles. I know this doesn’t seem like a lot, but most days I struggle to hit 1k or 1 mile, as I WFH.
I’m 29, 5’3, Female, non-smoker, approximately 138lbs.
Dx includes depression, anxiety, adhd, very mild scoliosis (typically forget I was dx with it until I get a new physical). Migraines, tension headaches, back pain.
Currently on OCP and have Nexplanon implant, Vyvanse, Amitriptyline (100mg) Dayvigo, and trazodone. PRN drugs include gabapentin, cyclobenzaprine and hydroxyzine, but I haven’t taken PRN’s in the last month.
Possibly relevant family history.
Father: DM2, HBP, HLD, history of depression, also a smoker
Mother: HBP, HLD, ADHD, depression, a “bout” of hyperthyroidism that was “fixed” with methimazole (currently off, regularly monitored). Current smoker, she quit when I was born, but re-started two years ago.
Extended family:
Maternal great aunt: BC at 30, reoccurrence at 70
Maternal grandmother, BC at 70, likely inflammatory as it was described as “looking like an orange peel. HBP, HLD, dementia. Horrible compliance with meds, but she died at 96, so she must have done something right.
Maternal Aunt: passed away at 67 from PE, likely a complication or her Cholangiocarcinoma or the treatment she was on.
Paternal grandmother: HBP, HLD, hypothyroidism.
Of note, I am negative for some common genetic issues (breast, gastric cancer, familial hypercholestemia) - I participated in HELIX genetic testing study through my previous employer.
Relevant medical history:
Was in 4, low to mid speed crashes in one year, which resulted in a mild concussion and chronic, but mild back issues. Back issues are muscle related, not skeletal. My muscles are “tight”, and I’ve done physical therapy for it.
