Hi everyone! This is my first carcano rifle, so I have a few questions.
As i understand these were chambered in 7.35 up until 1939-40. Is it anything special to be such an early 6.5 model made by Beretta? Another thing I noticed was the lack of an import mark, was there somewhere specific I should check? I kind of doubt it was a battlefield pickup. Any and all info is appreciated!
Got this for pretty cheap because it had a broken bolt handle (Slide 4 right side). It's still chambered in 7.7, the bore is workable, and nothing else was broken thankfully. I was mostly wondering about a mfg. date and the barrel length.
As for the barrel, it measures about 20.25" (51.43cm) from the chamber and the whole rifle is less than 40" (102cm), I'm assuming I would be kind of screwed if I tried to put it in an original stock? (Thanks Bubba)
Date wise I believe it to be from the Toyo Kogyo arsenal, series 32. Which would have put it sometime in the 40s? Open to any input!
I didn't goof up and get a display piece right? Picked this up for a song due to the broken bolt handle, they needed a mallet to get the action open.
I don't believe this is a trainer, being sporterized and having plenty of markings. But I don't know much about these Rifles. Any and all info is appreciated!
