I wanted to share my experience with a broken screen on my Supernote Nomad, the replacement process, and how I’m now over-protecting my favorite device with a DIY solution.

The Incident
A few months ago, I had my Nomad in my backpack during my commute to the office. When I took it out, I was devastated to find the screen had developed internal cracks. Interestingly, the cracks weren't visible on the surface, but the screen was completely unresponsive and unusable.

The Support Experience
I’ll be honest—until this happened, I hadn't really followed the forums or heard about the screen issues some users have faced. Once I reached out to the Supernote team, I realized this was a known pain point.
However, I ran into a significant hurdle: I am located in India, and my device was originally procured from the US. Supernote informed me that they didn’t have a direct shipping option to India for the replacement.

The Workaround
Because the Supernote team was so helpful and confirmed they would honor the replacement if I could manage the logistics, I took matters into my own hands. I set up a third-party shipping forwarder account in the US. I had the replacement sent there, and they handled the leap over to India. It took some extra effort, but the Supernote team was incredibly patient and prompt throughout the process. I’m very grateful for their assistance!

The DIY "Double-Armor" Case
Now that I have the replacement Nomad in hand, I’m not taking any chances. Even though I use the official folio, I felt it needed a bit more "squish" for when it’s inside a crowded bag.
I’ve built a simple DIY cushioned sleeve that fits over the Supernote and its folio. It adds a few extra layers of padding to absorb the pressure that likely caused the first crack. It’s not the thinnest setup, but the peace of mind is worth it.
