We took our Kia SUV to this dealership because it was running rough. They told us it was the timing chain and it needed replaced. About $2500, took them 5 weeks and the car left my wife stranded in less than 5 days. Tow truck driver said it was a bad alternator.
$350 for a tow back to this Kia dealership and my wife told them what the tow truck driver said. So they had a look and agreed. The battery and alternator had been replaced last November and both were still under warranty. This Kia dealership told me it would cost $800 to replace the alternator and it would take more than two hours. I complained and said it would take 20 to 30 minutes to replace, the part was paid for. They called back with a quote of $650, I told them no and that the car will soon drive off their lot.
My son is a Mason that was laying brick on a building just north of this dealership. My wife showed up with the replacement part, my son dropped by. A Mason replaced that alternator and that car rolled off the lot within 40 minutes. My wife handed him a very crisp $100 bill that he didn't want to take.
So you have been warned. This dealership cost me $2850 for a repair that I didn't need. Took 5 weeks to complete the repair that I didn't need. Didn't fix the the SUV, wanted to charge me another $650 to $800 to fix the original problem.
If a Rep. from Kia reads this. We will buy anything else before we buy another Kia because this must be company policy, I have guess.
