I’m an SLP, nearly 3.5 years out of grad school. Spent the first 3 years of my year working acute care with adults. Recently switched to acute care pediatrics and have been working this new job for a few months now. I feel wildly incompetent and discouraged. I feel like I’m not a good clinician and I worry my therapy isn’t effective or helpful. I love this career, but I’m exhausted and discouraged. would love to hear from others who switched settings… how long until you felt settled/comfortable again? The transition from adults to pediatrics has been more challenging than I expected!
