Hey everyone,

I recently went through a situation where I received a job offer, but it was later withdrawn after the employer realized I’m on STEM OPT. It was surprising since everything had gone well through the interview process.

I’m curious to understand how common this is in the community:

• Have others faced similar situations where offers were affected due to STEM OPT?
• How do employers typically react when it comes to E-Verify and signing the I-983?
• Are there particular industries or types of companies that tend to be more familiar with STEM OPT requirements?

I’m trying to better understand how to navigate these conversations with recruiters going forward and avoid similar situations.
