Hi everyone, Im basically in my early 30s and never had a formal job before. I tried quite hard for a year or two, but I never make it out of the interviews. I received some inheritance a few years ago and started investing. I can live quite comfortably with the money I've made (excluding the principal) but I do feel extremely behind my peers, who all work in finance in new york or engineers in the middle east. I graduated with an engineering degree but I never went into it as a career as I never really enjoyed engineering. I only felt pressured to do it due to my family. I have a bunch of random certificates from over the years too. For example: CELTA, Finance, construction-related, etc. I have plenty of credentials but almost no formal experience. I find myself saying the wrong words perhaps, but I've also had hiring managers try to exploit me by negotiating the salary right before giving me an offer. Anyway, I think a lot of companies look down on me due to my lack of experience.
