Help needed in transcribing backup guitar from Weather Report - Live by Fishmans
I am working on a cover of Weather Report (specifically the live version) by Fishmans.
I am currently struggling with working out the exact way the backup/rhythm guitar is playing a specific part at the beginning.

The part I am talking about starts at about 31 seconds in the linked video. It is the part being played by the guy in the orange shirt with the white ish hat.
It's just a simple repetitive strumming in C from what I can tell, but I can't seem to replicate the exact sound/feel of it. I can't tell if he is simply muting most of the strings and playing a single C note, or if he is playing the full chord with a specific voicing, or if I am making it too complicated and its literally just the basic C chord.
I would really appreciate it if someone could take a listen to this song and let me know what they think, as I am not very experienced with guitar and my ears are failing me here. I don't need sheet music or tabs, I would just like to hear what others think. Thanks!
