Is This Solar Output Normal?
I have a 3kW solar setup with 6 × 580W panels (total 3480W) connected to a Trion Wise Plus 4004 inverter (4kW).
Around 12:36 PM, the system was producing about 2470W from solar while the house load was around 3040W. However, later during peak noon hours, even though the sun was extremely strong and the weather was completely clear, solar production dropped to around 1910W while the load was still high (~2675W).
We called a technician, and he said this is “normal” because of the temperature coefficient of solar panels. According to him, when panels get too hot under intense sunlight, their efficiency decreases, causing lower power production even in blazing sun.
I am not fully satisfied with this explanation. Can experienced users guide me on whether this drop is actually normal, or if there could be another issue involved such as panel issue, wiring, or something else?
