52 shots, a year on Mounjaro, nearing my goal, thinking about maintenance
From June to the end of December 2025, I lost an average of 2–3 lbs per week. I think of this as Phase 1. Starting at just over 20 stone, I had a lot of weight to lose, which explains the faster progress early on. During this period, I ate one very small “normal” meal per day, supplemented with around 3 litres of protein fibre and 1 litre of water mixed with creatine. I also did light weight training with dumbbells and kettlebells for about 15 minutes every other day. I’m not recommending this approach, only noting that it worked for me.
From January 2026 to date, I deliberately slowed things down. This is my Phase 2, where I’ve been losing about 1 lb per week. The main change was simply eating more.
In Phase 2, I now have two small “normal” meals per day, along with around 2 litres of protein fibre and 1 litre of water with creatine and 1 litre of pure water. My meals vary, sometimes breakfast and lunch, other times lunch and dinner, but always include plenty of vegetables and protein. I’ve also increased my weight training. Again, this is just what has worked for me so far. It has been trial and error. Thankfully, I have never put on weight, but some weeks I lose no weight, and the following week I lose 2 lbs. I’m now approaching my goal weight.
Phase 3, which I expect to begin in a few months, will focus on maintenance. I’m currently on 15 mg and plan to continue purchasing this dose monthly, building up a supply of properly dated and stored pens. As I near my goal weight, I intend to experiment with reducing the dose, likely starting at 12.5 mg, while continuing with around 2 litres of protein fibre and 1 litre of water with creatine and 1 litre of pure water. Ideally, I’d like to gradually reduce to 5 mg, although I expect this process could take up to a year.
Is this wishful thinking? I welcome advice and suggestions from the community.
