Creeping buttercup infestation
My husband and I are trying to revive a lawn at our new house. It's mainly rocks and weeds with a couple struggling fruit trees. We put down composted topsoil and new grass seed, lots of water. The front section has lots of dandelions, the backside has even more creeping buttercups, including all around 1 apple tree. The grass isn't at a point where we can mow, and I imagine hand digging is detrimental to the new grass seed.
I kind of expect for the summer we're stuck with it, just mow when the new grass is strong enough. But going forward, what can we do to address the weed growth? Do the buttercups indicate we need to areate the soil?
My husband will not use any herbicides
