i am building a software for printing and signage companies who also manage digital screens, menu boards, led screens, billboards etc

company can manage all there client screens from one place

upload ads or videos, schedule when it should play, select which screens/location, see if screen is online or offline and also keep record of what ad was played

the screen player itself will be lightweight and fast, it can save content locally so ads can still run if internet goes down, auto start when the pc turns on, keep the last working playlist, sync new content when internet comes back and report screen status back to the main portal

also thinking to add client portal where client can upload artwork, approve design, see campaign dates and maybe proof that there ad was actually running

other things i am planning:

  • local offline storage
  • auto start on boot
  • fullscreen kiosk mode
  • remote screen control
  • automatic content sync
  • screen online/offline monitoring
  • playlist scheduling
  • emergency content override
  • proof of play logs
  • device health/status
  • low resource usage
  • crash recovery
  • support for images and videos

mainly looking at UAE, Kuwait and other GCC countries because lot of printing and signage companies here also do digital display installation

i am not trying to make another normal video player, more like a management system for signage company itself with a reliable lightweight player running on every screen

wanted to know from people working in printing, signage, advertising or digital screens

is this actually useful for your business?

what problem you currently have when managing multiple client screens?

and are you already using any software for this or mostly whatsapp + excel + manual usb updates?

just trying to understand the real workflow before building too much stuff
