Granular component permissions for client editing

I’m currently building a website for a client and have started using Components extensively for things like hero sections, image cards, and query loop sections.

I’d like to give the client limited builder access so they can edit simple content within component instances (e.g. text, images, button labels/links), but prevent access to more advanced settings such as:

  • Query loop settings
  • Conditions
  • Layout/structure
  • Styling
  • Dynamic data and other component configuration

My ideal setup would be something like:

  • Some components are fully locked (system components)
  • Some components expose only selected editable properties

At the moment, it looks like permissions apply at the capability level rather than per component.

Is there currently a recommended way to achieve this in Bricks, or are more granular component permissions / property-level editing controls planned in a future release?
