From 0 sales to proving my dad wrong
My dad thought I was getting scammed lol, a few years ago I told him I was trying to make money online with a Shopify store and his exact response was that sounds like a scam, which for some reason hurt a lil.
And I don't blame him, I was sitting in my room watching ecommerce videos all day, talkin about products and ads and making absolutely nothing from any of it, from his perspective I probably looked absolutely delusional.
He'd keep asking if I found a real job yet and every time I'd tell him naw I'm still working on the store. Things only started changing once orders started coming in and people started receiving their packages. I was using Zendrop for fulfillment, running Meta ads and using Klaviyo for emails and after trusting the process a while everything started clicking together.
I think what changed his mind wasn't anything I said, it was seeing random people buying stuff from me. Once he saw money coming in and customers getting their orders the questions changed pretty fast lol.
He asks more about the store than anyone else. Every time I see him he's asking how sales are doing, what products are working, how many orders came in this week and allat.
Ngl that feels pretty good might not be the type to say he's proud of me directly but it kinda feels like his version of saying it.
