Should I watch Evangelion?
To preface I've always disliked anime until about a week ago when by chance I stumbled upon a YT playlist of Serial Experiments Lain, I watched through the series and honestly it might have been one of the greatest pieces of television I ever watched.
I mentioned how I had started watching Anime and my dad recommended Cowboy Bebop which I'm about to finish and currently loving this show.
This brings me to my main point, for multiple years lots of people even when I outright told them I hated anime and would probably never get into it they would still tell me to watch Evangelion and just this week a friend from school came up to me literally grabbed me by the shoulders and told me I HAD to watch this show. I have no clue what this story is about or anything like that my only knowledge of this show is from meme's online and what I've heard from friends.
So my main questions is should I watch this show and if so what version since my friend from school mentioned how there's a Netflix version and how that's the way he watched it and he also mentioned a Movie. I'm just wondering if it's like blade-runner with like 5 different cuts or versions.
