Perinasal derm breakout spreading to eyelids and chin
Hi! I'm having my first breakout in a long time, and it's the worst I've ever had. It started two months ago around my nose (which is what has happened in the past). I was in denial for a while so was just using mario badescu healing powder (sulfur) along with a *very* old sulfur/sodium sulfacetamide wash I prescribed 10+ years ago. Sulfur is what has cured me in the past. It wasn't getting worse exactly, but it wasn't getting better either.
In the past week, it has spread to the area around my chin and—most alarmingly—my eyelids. The eyelid spread is happening RAPIDLY. I have an appointment with a dermatologist in a week, but it's not soon enough.
My skincare routine (pre-flare up) is very basic: wash face with cetaphil twice a day, tret .05% 3 times a week, kiehl's ultra facial cream both day and night, trader joe's "super goop dupe" sunscreen. That's it. No makeup, no serums or acids, and I've been using all of those products for a long time.
I stopped the tret a week ago when I started getting freaked out, and I've switched to a mineral sunscreen. I'm also using the sulfur/sodium sulfacetamide wash on my nose and chin every morning, and have started using de la cruz sulfur ointment in the evening. But I don't know what to do about my eyelids!!!
Last night, I realized that I think I might have spread it to my eyelids because the Mariu Badescu sulfur powder has a little sponge inside it that I've been using on all the active flare ups, and I used that same sponge on my eyelid for the first time ~48 hours ago. Since then, the eyelid flare up has accelerated dramatically and spread to the other eye. So, I'm obviously going to discontinue that powder, but I am desperate for something I can use on my eyelids before my appointment in a week. Is there an over the counter sulfur wash that is gentle enough for this area?
I can't stop sunscreen because I am very pale and am outside frequently, but I have not been putting it on any of the affected areas.
Please help!!!! I'm so freaked out :( :( :(
