Saw a guy at a cafe in indiranagar last week wearing these painted air force 1s and couldn't stop staring, asked him about it and he said he got them from some brand called knickgasm.

Started going down a rabbit hole after that,apparently there's a decent custom sneaker scene now and there are few studios doing this like knickgasm and sneak art being two of them, where you give them a reference or a vibe and they hand paint it on original nike or converse bases.

prices seem to start around 8k-10kish and go up depending on complexity so for context a plain AF 1 itself retails at 8,000+.

I cant decide if that's actually reasonable or not,on one hand you are getting something nobody else has and on the other hand, rs 16k-20k for sneakers when you could just buy two clean pairs feels hard to justify unless you really care about it.

Genuinely curious what people think, have you tried custom sneakers? Was it worth the price? Or is this just a niche thing that looks great on Instagram and sits in a box at home?too many ques sorry
