Postdoc in henan
I recently received an offer for a postdoc position at Henan Polytechnic University in Henan Province. I am from a North African country and this would be my first postdoc position.
The contract is for two years, and the proposed salary is 12,500 RMB per month. They also offer accommodation, probably in university apartments. This salary would be around double what I currently earn in my home country.
A bit about my situation: I am married, and my wife is currently pregnant. She would join me after giving birth, probably in about five months. I have also been working in a job that is different from my educational background, so this could be a chance for me to return to my academic/research career.
Do you think 12,500 RMB per month with accommodation is enough for a small family in Henan? What should I consider before accepting the offer?
Any advice would be appreciated.
