Hot take: The DMR should be Recon exclusive (read description)
Why do I feel like the DMR should be Recon exclusive?
Well, in my opinion, it just feels out of place having other kits that are NOT associated with "taking enemies out from a distance." You play Recon because you want to snipe enemies and stay in the backline supporting your teammates just like the Medic kit.
People that I come across in-games also don't really buy the DMR from the armory, because it requires some skills to use, niche, poor self-defense capability, and the Rifle is just a better option for kits that don't have a reliable way to fight enemies at the same price of 15 Reserves.
DMR upgrades are also more expensive than the Rifle's upgrades, costing 18 Reserves (for both Gift of Fire and Armor Peeler), while both the Rifle upgrades cost only 15 Reserves (Bolter and Harpoon Gun). Yes, both DMR upgrades are incredibly powerful, but if you're already playing other kits, especially Medics or Specialists, you won't be using it for half of the time, wasting your Reserves and inventory space.
I DO LIKE the SMG being in the armory, basically a more CQB-aggressive alternative to the Rifle, with higher fire-rate and slightly higher damage, but worse accuracy. It just feels nice to have an alternative for players that like playing aggressively but doesn't have a reliable way to deal damage (ex; Medic)
But that's my opinion, what about yours? Do you agree with me? Or what's your opinion?
